I don't expect elite football to stop any time soon, at least not on a widespread basis - perhaps the odd individual government might ban it.

It's work that can't be done from home, they already don't have to quarantine (presumably partly because they have very controlled travel plans in place), there tends to be widespread testing and the age profile of the players means they themselves generally aren't at major risk.

No doubt the economic/financial incentives will be taken into account too and the 'morale' boost it makes for a lot of people.
