bmb , can you describe Balazs Berke please?
I'm assuming you mean his refereeing style as opposed to me replying 36yrs old, 6'1, slim, dark hair, beautiful dark brown eyes and quite cute!
Dreadful hairstyles mind!
He reminds me very much of Clatts. Bit of an arrogant swagger on the pitch, but is lovely and not at all arrogant. His fitness is exceptional, positioning excellent, reads a game very well & gets himself in the best position, can outrun any player on a quick break. Knowledge & application of the LOTG is simply top notch. He was very strict but has calmed slightly with experience and his use of advantages is growing in a very positive way. Very consistent & always fair with both teams. When he does call one wrong he really does so in style & it tends to be a biggie!! (Like Clatts). Very confident in himself mostly in a good way. Will not be told what to do, he will always referee within the LOTG, no amount of directives will change him on a pitch, again like Clatts. Tell him to ignore pushes & he will refuse point blank & punish them regardless as an example. Obviously prepares for games very well, knows the players, teams styles of play and adjusts his position accordingly. Likes to allow a game to flow around him but is not afraid of making the big calls. Often opts for man management ahead of cards, not always correctly, sometimes a yellow has to be given to really calm things down but he is improving in that regard. He has no problem with giving out cards when needed. Very exciting to watch, he has that "wow" factor needed to be a top International referee. Very naturally talented, strong, confident & consistent. Possibly promoted too late to make the elite list but would be easily capable of doing so. His promotion and white badge were delayed as he was considered a bit of a discipline problem down to him doing what he thinks is right as opposed to doing what he is told. By that I'm not suggesting he's not willing to grow & learn because he clearly strives to keep growing as a referee and learns from mistakes but things like directives, he will ignore if doesn't agree with them! If it's in the LOTG he will strive to follow them on the pitch, if it's in a directive telling him to deviate from that even slightly then no chance! Made his EL debut last season in Engordany v Dinamo Tbilisi and put in an absolute masterclass of a performance. It was just wonderful to see.
