Mostly one with a political background for Oliver.

Hopefully it will be as quiet as the 1st round game but it certainly has the potential to be quite fiery. If it is, he is a very good choice to be able to handle it well.

The last Turkish-Greek match on 3rd Q. of CL (Basaksehir-Olympiakos) was a very challenging match for the referee with many cautions and 2 RC's. The Turkish side made many complaints about the Israeli referee.

Hopefully, this time, Oliver won't face so much challenge.

PLAY-OFF ROUND (Second Legs)

29 August 2019, 20:00 CET - Budapest (Groupama Aréna)
Ferencvárosi TC (HUN) - FK Sūduva (LTU) | 0-0
Referee: Marco Guida (ITA)
Assistant Referee 1: Ciro Carbone (ITA)
Assistant Referee 2: Daniele Bindoni (ITA)
Fourth Official: Fabio Maresca (ITA)
UEFA Referee Observer: Gerard Perry (IRL)
UEFA Delegate: Zaur Hacı-Məhərrəmov (AZE)
Mentor for Delegate: Mark Blackbourne (ENG)

Oh my! Very handsome!!!

Only 1 thing of note so far, he gave a penalty to Fradi, now it was a completely correct call BUT wasn't a red card offence and I think he should have delayed the whistle for a second or 2 to wait & see if the ball went in the net.  It did as the keeper was completely stranded and it was very obvious the ball was heading into the net before he even blew.  Fury from both teams due to it & it has resulted in him sending off a coach from the Fradi bench. He looks very young so a bit of a learning experience for him. That split second delay would have stopped all the dissent from both teams & both benches!

Fradi just gone 2-1 up & the commentator is going mental in my ear!!!

Sounds as if Oliver had an interesting evening in Turkey.  8 Yellows, a Red in added time and over 30 fouls.

Guess I'll be making my 2nd visit to Scotland this season then!!!

Now if someone at UEFA could just kindly swap Farkas & Solymosi over I'd be eternally grateful

Will have to have #SolymosiWatch on my phone/tablet while pretending to watch Mr K and team!!! Hence why I could really do with UEFA swapping over Farkas and the lovely Mr Solymosi!

They all doing VAR in the Champions League. Be interesting to see how the English VAR's adapt to the UEFA protocols which I assume involve more monitor reviews? Could anyone enlighten me on that?

Dabanovic has Rosetti as observer. Any thoughts as to his potential?

Along with Irfan Peljto from Bosnia and Herzegovina, he's pure talent. Both of them are simply excellent! However, they will be forced to wait for a CL-debut a bit longer than those from big federations - all that due to lack of VAR in their domestic leagues. Nonetheless, I'm glad that UEFA already recognized their skills.

OFR's (On Field Reviews) are a crucial part of UEFA's process with VAR. So English referees will definitely need to adapt to that. Also, don't forget that VAR's don't decide. They just suggest.
