I suppose they will name the 4 ref teams for the one country knock out phase after the weekend then? any chance of a English ref team involved or not?

I think it is highly likely that there will only be 4 referee teams involved in the Europa and Champions Leagues from this stage onwards, although until the appointments are released we won't be certain.

In terms of English representatives, I think Anthony Taylor will be the best bet, most likely in the Europa League as he is already in Germany.

I'd guess that means Taylor and team won't be involved in the remaining Europa League games as otherwise you'd expect one of them to be FO/AVAR.

I reckon a FO like Hategan might be used for a semi-final.
I'd guess it will work the same in the CL - some contenders for semi-finals might get FO/VAR appointments in QFs.

Oliver's future involvement will be linked to how well Man Utd and Wolves do.
Hategan is a strong shout for future matches and I cannot believe Collum is out there just to patrol the benches

Taylor off to Portugal to be involved in Champions League games?

I'd be very surprised if Collum got a EL semi-final as a referee. He seems to have fallen out of favour after the handball decision against Chris Smalling.

Very important observers for both... unusual to have Dallas observing a fellow British official.

Incidentally it’s Irrati and Guida as VAR for Orsato’s game.

UEFA Europa League Semi Final - Sunday 16th August 8pm (BT Sport 1)

Seville v Man Utd - Cologne

Referee: Felix Brych (GER)
Assistant referees: Mark Borsch (GER) and Stefan Lupp (GER)
Video Assistant Referee: Bastian Dankert (GER)
Assistant Video Assistant Referee: Marco Fritz (GER)
Fourth official: Daniel Siebert (GER)

It appears that those who had a champions league last 16 game are involved in the Europa league and vice-versa.  If this is the case I would imagine Cakir will get the Europa League final.

I don't think Cakir has refereed Manchester United since the Nani red card incident mind?

I think Hategan is most likely for the other EL semi-final.

I'd guess Kuipers will get another CL game at least.

Inter Milan v Shakhtar Donetsk - Monday 17th August (8pm - BT Sport 1) - Dusseldorf

Referee: Szymon Marciniak (POL)
Assistant referees: Paweł Sokolnicki (POL) and Tomasz Listkiewicz (POL)
Video Assistant Referee: Pawel Gil (POL)
Assistant Video Assistant Referee: Tomasz Kwiatkowski (POL)
Fourth official: William Collum (SCO)

So they are mixing the competitions - Marciniak was in charge of a Champions League quarter final.
