Thanks AT.  I watched the last 20 minutes or so of Oliver's game.  A few YCs but nothing untoward as far as I could see.

Any other feedback as to how AT & MO got on?

I see there were 39 fouls in Oliver’s game, which seems excessive even by UEFA standards as well as Michaels own. Any particular reason or just a rather niggly  affair?

I would be tempted to add in the R16 games and have 22 refs do 2 games each. Then cut to 8 or 10 refs for the quarter finals onwards.
Will also be interesting to see if there is a CORE VAR team or if each referee will have his (or her) own

I struggle to get to 18 referees who I think should go, let alone 22!

The weakest performers in 2016 were the ones you'd expect, Moen etc. It seems a waste to me to only use officials like Brych, Cakir and Skomina twice up to the quarter-finals.

I watched the Juventus – Atl.Madrid on TV, but there is little to report: for a game between an Italian and a Spanish team it was all very calm and straightforward.  There were a few occasions when Mr Taylor waved play on, where he might have given a free kick, but his approach was consistent and even-handed.  He clearly conformed to the commentators' expectations of an English referee.

Edited on 28 Nov.

The newspaper La Repubblica gave Mr Taylor a mark of 7 with the comment 'semplicemente perfetto'.  One can only contemplate with wonder the levels of perfection needed to obtain a mark of 7.5 or higher.

Decent game for Bastien with an important committee member. Fairly routine games elsewhere, Taylor in France and Rocchi with a good game in Munich.

4th CL appointment for Anthony Taylor on this Group Stage. He certainly seems to be on a good form. Pawson is FO which means no EL for him. So it seems that he has no chance of a promotion to the Elite.

Bastien with an important committee member on the road to Euro 2020. Good to see Kassai back. I think that we will see him to Euro 2020.

Any news on any promotions to Elite for January? Rocchi is departing the scene and was wondering who you thought would be, if any, stepping up?

I think that the UEFA meeting on categories is on the next days. I don't expect any promotion to the Elite now. Perhaps Vincic but it doesn't seem so likely.

Throw in a disallowed goal via VAR & all that was missing from the match bingo card was a red!  Good performance from Mr K tonight, imo.  Viktor - Büszke vagyok rád!
