The cream of the heavy artillery preside unsurprisingly. Most of the ties have important observers.

Vassaras presence on Switzerland could indicate someone like Oliver/Taylor or Collum. I can't imagine that he would go there to observe Brych.

So Makkelie on YB-CZ. UEFA is playing safe.

All 6 referees appointed for 1st legs have great VAR experience on their own league. That could rule out the English duo from a 2nd leg appointment.

It’s a shame that England is so far behind other nations when it comes to VAR experience. The bigger games this season invariably won’t go to Oliver and Taylor. Collum needs more exposure to VAR IMO.

Turpin has a league match next Wednesday so he is out from CL-EL Play-OFFs. That could open a spot for Taylor/Oliver for a CL match.

He's 46 so may have retired over the summer but I don't know. Edy or Vlad will know.

As I suspected when I saw the VAR assignment for today, Taylor and his team are out in Europe - with a good match too.

No surprise that the big hitters are out in force. Hategan with an important observer too.
It’s been a while since we have had a full allocation of FIFA officials from England in a game!
