I felt the Bulgarian Kabakov was inconsistent in last night's Tottenham game. Examples included the cautioning of Aiderweireid when the Spurs player clearly played the ball and did not touch the Olympiacos player, and a foul given against a Spurs player when the Olympiacos player clearly and deliberately backed into his opponent. I don't think Hugh Dallas would have been too impressed with this performance. One amusing aspect of the cautioning of the Spurs player came when Kabakov proceeded to write down all the details of the perceived foul in his notebook, rather than merely showing the card and noting the player's number. Very old school which was picked up by the BT commentator, but it did mean a further delay in restarting play on a night when free kicks, foam spraying and generally getting players back the required distance resulted in frequent delays in play. A good evening for Spurs and Mourinho (and a certain ball boy) but, oh my, how grateful they must have been to Meriah for kicking thin air rather than the ball in the moments before half time!
