Referee Manager Game
« on: Sun 01 Mar 2026 19:03 »
Could you be the next Howard Webb?

I'm currently working on building a free Referee manager game where you select a Referee & VAR for each PL fixture, which are simulated and referees are marked on their performance.

All referees are given a stat out of 100 for Refereeing and VAR, they also have average cards per game

I have tried to build some logic so you cant pick the same referees, doing the same teams each week (i have set a 3 week separation as minimum) and also built a conflict teams (e.g. Oliver can't referee Newcastle, Bankes/Jones can't referee Liverpool or Everton etc.

Apologies in advance if this isn't allowed to be posted but was hoping this forum might be interested and able to test when its ready

Thanks it might be basic so wont be amazing or anything but will let you know how i get on.

I'm not a coder/developer or anything so using a website to build which seems to be like co-pilot where you tell it what you want and it builds it for you.

The polite thing to do would be to ask either the forum owner (me or Ben) or one of the admin team first. I'll leave the thread up because there are members showing an interest.

I would definitely be interested in giving this a go

Would you do it as the full team? I.e with assistants and 4th officials?

I work in IT and have a background in UAT/PEN testing and would be more than happy to do some testing for you, if needed.

Is it a mobile app release or PC/console? What hardware would be requied to conduct the testing?

I would 100% try this out! (Knowing me I would probably get addicted too!)

Echoing GingerReferee’s question, will we have the full set to assign?

A few weeks ago, I asked ChatGPT to make a game just like this, but it didn’t work, sadly! (In true ChatGPT fashion 🙄)

I am excited for this new game and will look forward to playing it! Can we choose the colour of the kits too? I’ll make sure y*llow is not seen anywhere 😉

Apologies, as its a very niche thing i thought the community could support with the development of this so i wasn't deliberately advertising or trying to break any rules.

Apologies again

So far i have the following referees

Michael Oliver
Anthony Taylor
Chris Kavanagh
John Brooks
Jarred Gillett
Paul Tierney
Robert Jones
Craig Pawson
Peter Bankes
Andy Madley
Stuart Attwell
Michael Salisbury
Darren England
Sam Barrott
Simon Hooper
Tom Bramall
Darren Bond
Tony Harrington
Tim Robinson
Matt Donohue

VAR only

Paul Howard
James Bell
Nick Hopton

I'd like to increase the pool of VAR's only as think i have missed a few (Neil Davies)

Id also maybe add a couple development referees so if anyone can help with the following that would be great

Josh Smith
Lewis Smith
Farai Hallam
Thomas Kirk
Andrew Kitchen

The info id need is

Age
City/Base
Any PL teams they can't officiate due to supporting or being a rival
