International Appointments / Re: UEFA Europa League 2021/2022

Any ideas what day the UEL final appts will be released?

Delighted to be welcoming Mr Gillett to St Mary's as the main man for the first time. Might not as straight forward an assignment as it appears on paper with a bit of needle between the two teams - or more specifically Zaha and Ward-Prowse - in recent years, so a good test. Hopefully he picks up more games of stature next season with a level of trust well established now after a positive first SG1 season.

Breakspear at Rotherham v Oxford also a big game as is Backhouse at Fleetwood v Wimbledon.

What’s happened to Alan Young?

Looks like David Webb replaced Keith Stroud for Barnsley v Reading

I think Rob Jones must have a season ticket at Leeds, always seems to be there

Done a quick count. Leeds will have played 16 home games, Rob Jones has reffed 1 and been 4th Official for 5. So 6/16 home games (37.5%), quite a high amount as you say.
I might have missed a game or miscounted but still a high amount.

How do you find out those stats?

Anyone know how many Liverpool games Atwell has been involved in? Seems to be a lot of them

3 so far this season.

He's always been a diver which ruins his reputation as he's an excellent player.

It's soft - Lawrence jumps in to the challenge. Suspect Rooney won't be moaning about the officiating this week...

Mike Dean with his red cards at the ready.

Sadly, Graham Scott lost control of the Southampton v Watford game in the second half which included a couple of cards for dissent and too many arguments with players over silly little things such as placements of free-kicks/who should have possession after a drop ball etc. The dismissal of a penalty for handball was certainly questionable too.

I haven't seen too much of Mr Scott elsewhere this season but what are people's views on whether he is still up to SG1 standard?

General Discussion / Tim Robinson - Barnsley v Fulham

Shocking penalty decision at the end of the first half in favour of Barnsley. Morris falls over in the box and there should arguably have been a foul given the other way in the build up for the shirt pull on Tosin.

Kevin Friend was generally good at St Mary's but was far too lapse on Newcastle's time wasting. 7 times during the match they went down with 'injuries' or cramp and Krath was taking an absolute age with every throw-in.

Big game for Gözübüyük as I get the feeling that could get scrappy if Red Star's games in Europe so far this season in anything to go by, plus the club/their fans' support for Russia which won't go down well in the blue half of Glasgow.

Graham 'away win' Scott at St Mary's. Pain.

Good to see Gillett with another appointment. Really hoping some of the newer SG1 officials are given more opportunities before the end of the season, especially in games where there isn't too much riding on them.

Very interesting that Doughty gets Barnsley v Stoke again, given that the reverse kicked off towards the end.
