I've seen him at Portman Road four times and probably a similar number at Southend and concur with previous comments. Unexceptional one way or the other. I recall tattoos, which wouldn't please some in our midst.
Personally I have no issue with massed pipe bands marching up and down 
The question is:- Do you have an issue with Military Bands doing the same thing or did I waste 23 years of my life doing Edinburgh, Berlin, Aldershot etc. Just asking? :-)

Managing a league game and not issuing yellow cards where they should be given gives no thought to the other 18 teams in the league and the possible repercussions that should have been felt in future games, ie suspensions etc
A very relevant observation after watching games this season where cautions have been issued very freely. Noticeable that certain players/teams do not receive cautions for commiiting similar fouls to other players cautioned in the same match. Who knows why? Last season there was an average of 3.68 yellows per game. This season as of today the average is 4.30 yellows per game. The red card count is much worse with anaverage of 0.82 per game last season rising to 1.70 this season.

Why arm on shoulder?
It's a contact sport (or is supposed to be) and nigh on impossible to run with your arms down by your side. There are "arms on shoulders" and such like all over the pitch that aren't penalised.
I shall certainly be watching Man City v Villa on Wednesday night to see how much of that sort of contact is allowed. It was something which happened all the time in my playing days without being penalised and was the rough and tumble of the game. Thinking about it, I think that it is still a part of the game once you get away from the sterile atmosphere of the PL and watch enjoyable football at other levels.

Deduct point for this and for that. Why not add points for perfect behaviour. Points are about success or failure on the field of play during the 90 minutes.
Then again, I cannot think of any other significant sanction other than suspensions. Perhaps the fines for infringement by Premier League participants should be in the £0,000,000s rather than the £0,000s
Can I ask if, using your reasoning about points, they should also not be deducted for ignoring or manipulating the financial regulations which clubs are supposed to adhere to? The lack of respect for our officials may not improve even if points are deducted for behaviour, however, it has been proved beyond doubt that, at the top levels of the game, fines and suspensions do not have any effect at all, particularly as far as quite a number of managers and club officials are concerned. IN my opinion, it could be given a try because all clubs will know that it will apply to them if they step out of line. The biggets problem then will be to decide who is going to arbitrate over the whole scheme in order to show fairness.

I watched the whole game and thought that the officials were excellent and contributed to a really good spectacle, particularly for the neutral spectator. Certainly no complaints from me.
As far as time wasting by keepers is concerned, I regret to say that the changes made by IFAB as far as taking goal kicks are concerned does not help the game at all. Keepers can use any part of the area, defenders are standing close by to receive that ball and then they all decide that they will go long and this takes further time. LIkewise with the keeper falling to the ground to waste more time which is very much a modern thing and totally unnecessary.

Well he's wrong.
In your opinion. Doku definitely played the ball and then followed through. I'm 50/50 on it, there is contact on Mac Allister's chest but not really with any force. I don't think this could be deemed a clear and obvious error, and certainly not with the very hih bar currently in place.
I watch all football on the TV with the sound muted and I really couldn't see what they were looking at as far as the Doku incident was concerned. He played the ball and his foot slightly caught MacAllister on the chest which, in my experience of playing the game, was something which happens. Sadly, they seem to want to take any contact out of the game.

He totally missed a second yellow card for Adam Wharton at 0-0. Got the Brownhill red card correct and the penalty however but that second yellow card would have evened up the number of players and 9 times out of 10 it’s a yellow. Not that it would have an difference to the end result as we are woeful
Spot on, particularly with the second yellow for Wharton when he slid in and took out two Burnley players with the same tackle, mind you, he did then put his hand up to apologise and this seems to work in a player's favour ---somtimes.

Horrible time keeping, he wasted more than what he added on trying to write down players names, also loved him hurrying a keeper up only for the keeper to then pick the ball up and run to the other side of the box to place the ball for the goal kick
Keeper is completely within the Laws of the Game in doing what he did, yet another of the stupid things which IFAB deignated would speed the game up.

Is this really fair?
Would you prefer appointments to be made by a random draw to make it fairer? With the greatest of respect to Burnley, games involving teams near the bottom of the table in the first half of the season are unlikely to register as potentially troublesome in the eyes of the appointments people so you can hardly expect to have a non-stop conveyor of FIFA referees in charge. Were these seven games refereed worse than all their others?
I think the point being made is Burnley will have had 7 games refereed by personel who are not on the sg1 list at the moment, surely trial games should be shared around. Perhaps this is distorted a bit by Sam Barrott doing more games than a simgle trialist game or two, i guess he is on what was a supplementary list.
The most interesting thing to me is that, on one of the Burnley social media boards, they have fans marking the referee every game and the top three in the table are Josh Smith, Rebecca Welch and Sam Barrott and John Brookes is in fourth position although he has not officiated this season Burnley have lost 5 of the 8 matches refereed by thes four officials. Having siad that, I do cringe when I see some of the markings dished out by many fans.

Another solid performance from Barrott. The penalty looked as if it was on the line therefore the award is correct.
Did what he had to do without fuss and looked comfortable all game.
Totally agree, it was a very good performance and how refreshing it was to see the players accepting decisions without surrounding him all the time. On the odd occasion that there was a query he dealt with it an talked to the player involved who then just got on with the game. A good advert for the game after some of the dross seen at the higher level this season.

What happened to Amy fearn? She was around the non league scene for ages saw her a few times and thought she was one of the best at that level
Still about officiating in women's matches. Seen her ref a few times over the years in the WSL/Women's Championship, and was fourth official at the West Ham vs Spurs WSL match on Sunday evening that I was at.
She received an MBE in the Honours List last June.

Salisbury was on VAR for the Palace v Everton Cup Tie and was instrumental in Calvert Lewins erroneous dismissal When yesterday's Brewster tackle occurred he gave a yellow card before VAR got involved
The last minute non penalty was up to his standards Before hitting Bowen's arm it struck the offending Blade on the arm
Let's be honest about the last minute non-penalty though ebcause if it did hit the offending Blade on the arm it couldn't be called handball because his arms were in a natural position for anyone making a rugby tackle.

That's a shame. An act of cheating leading to a goal has to be ignored?! Maybe it's time the protocols were extended.
While I agree in principle, the problem would be that it would lead to longer delays after every goal while they have to go back to check that the restart was 100% correct. For example: forensic examination of whether part of the ball was overhanging the corner arc when the corner was taken; was the ball moving by the tiniest amount when the free kick was taken; should the free kick have been two inches to the left and consequently did that make a difference to whether the goal would have been scored; was the thrower's foot touching the ground at the point of delivery or was it a millimetre off?
A slippery slope, I fear.
All your points above are dealt with every week by officials outside of the elite matches and are accepted or argued about by players, managers etc. but they just get on with the game without any forensic examination or outside interference from anyone. Players move the ball for set pieces, hardly ever retreat 10 yards for free kicks, take throw ins from anywhere within twenty yards of where the ball went out and then often lift their trailing foot, frequently place the ball outside the corner quadrant if they are on the opposite side to the AR. It appears to me that there is a culture throughout the game to try to get away with anything and everything. Yes, we used to try the odd thing when I was playing and I knew most of the tricks when I officiated, however, it really does seem to be taking over and VAR is not stopping anything at all.

This has been a smashing game to watch --now half time in extra time, whatever the result, we have had two teams going for a win and Darren bond has bee nvery much a part of making it a smashing contect.
I thought that Blackpool had shot themselves in the foot when they conceded a second goal riight after half time, however, they have shown grit and a great fighting spirit to come back and force the game into extra time.
Football as it should be played with no outside interference and it has made it so much more enjoyable.
Well done to all three teams.
