Congratulations to all, hope the day goes well for them all.
Wish i had been to the bookies back in april to see the odds on Tierney getting the final, but at least by not doing i have avoided an eight month ban.

Many tks to Danny and bmb for a very enjoyable read and an understanding of refereeing and referee development.
Good luck in this new venture for you Danny.

Makkelie, Vincic, Kovacs in the frame for champs league final i reckon, i would be happy with the former or the latter.
Think Taylor or Kovacs for EL (if Kovacs doesnt get champs league final).

All Bramhall needs to do is look at Simon Hooper - knuckle down, work hard, take chances when they come

Or change his name to Robert Madley. As I have said a few times the writing has been on the wall most of the season and Webb and co. couldn’t wait to get him back in the SG.
I am sure some on here will rejoice but not me.

Must be all that Yorkshire bias, tha knows...

Dickie Bird will be joining SG1 next!!
At 90 Bird probably fits the age criteria😂

Missy bmb will be a very happy lady.
Looks like Bobby Madley will be back in sg1 next season along with Robinson.
Another good appointment for John Brooks.
The big 2 for the title deciders.
Big games in the lower echelons for Bankes and Coote our ex FIFA men.
Nice to see Marriner with a game.

A good insight into process with Howard Webb tonight.

Marciniak on duty in the Man C v Real Madrid game, with Kovacs as fourth official?

I can’t remember who Robert Madden is but whenever I look him up online, it comes up with Bobby Madden. They’re not the same people, right? 😅
The same person, former Scotland FIFA referee who moved down to England
In recent years.

L2 Final - Welch.

L1 Final - Robinson.

Championship final - Gillett.
Agree with L1 & L2 but think the final may go to Michael Oliver if Andre Marriner isnt appointed.

I will wager a bet that we dont hear any audio between officials ie var and the referee when a controversial decision is made, ie where we need to know the thinking of officials in such cases.

General Discussion / Re: M SALISBURY - Palace v Bournemouth
« on: Sun 14 May 2023 21:52 »
A red card all day long.
We used to have inconsistencies in referees making decisions and the alleged rub of the green favouring certain teams. Since the advent of var we now have these questions raised about var, so now we are more inconsistent than ever apart from the factual decisions like offside.
