He’s not the first to have done it in recent years, with Ivan Stankovic (former Scottish SAR) making the move down south a few seasons ago.

And he is shocking, gave offside from a corner 🤷‍♂️

Could even be James Bell or Darren Drysdale

Yes he was excellent.  Was at that game, funny when the linesman went flying after about 2 minutes 😂

Season ticket holder friends of mine at SoL say Madley is the best ref we’ve had there this season too - and that was first game of the season!!!

Yes, he was excellent at Scunthorpe v Rochdale in February, although I imagine he'll be disappointed at the clear foul on Portsmouth's keeper that he missed at Morecambe on Monday.

David Avent wasn't the fourth official at Rochdale; it was someone called Jamie O'Connor, according to MOAS.

Hes from mid-derbyshire

He was very busy.

His first game at this level since mid season promotion to 2b

Apart from not getting play started sooner he hasn’t done a lot wrong.

Maybe something to do with Hawkeye not working correctly with light lux issues

I know of a few male referees looking to go along the female pathway.  But will they ever reach the top?  Of course not.. seen it over the past few seasons, up until the FA cup semi final male officials are on games, but then remarkably disappear when the semis are appointed to.

Further still a male referee who is a L3 referee cant referee a WSL game but they can do the line to a L3 female referee who can referee on the WSL.

Surprised she's only done half a dozen Football League matches in the first half of the season.

I believe, though stand to be corrected, that Ms Welch also officiates at a very senior level in Women's football and so that would presumably limit her availability in the Football League. Both avenues must be open to referees now. Are there any male referees making a good name for themselves officiating in senior Women's football ? It must now be open for all referees to operate in such a dual way.

edited purely to fix the quote thingamajigga! bmb

Hopefully this will explain.

For FA cup
A team can make 5 subs throughout the whole game.
They have 3 opportunities during the 90 minutes to make these subs, if a sub is made at half time it doesn’t count as an opportunity.
If the game goes to extra time a team gets a 4th opportunity to make subs but still can’t use more than 5 subs.

Example.
1 sub after 27 mins
1 sub at half time
1 sub after 79 mins
1 sub after 83 mins
1 sub in extra time

Concussion subs add an extra dimension as if one is used the other team are allowed another sub but that’s for another story
