This year would be too early in my opinion.  Let him have plenty of experience in Premier and Championship, including some needle / feisty games to "test his mettle" before sending him out into the international arena.

"whilst talking to a Premier League manager' " - possibly not for much longer!!!!!

Perhaps they should disband the independent panel and hand the job to RTR

looks like I've upset somebody but thanks for your support bmb

Referee12 you haven't upset me.  I just felt it difficult to fully understand your message. Keep sharing your thoughts and opinions :-)

Don't wish to be pedantic Referee12, but your message would be a lot easier to understand with more punctuation.

Please bear in mind some people have learning disabilities and can struggle with writing posts.

Fair comment boss,  but other LDs require very precise text.

Suggesting that something could or should happening, and acknowledging that it would probably not happen is far removed from demanding!

General Discussion / Re: Is this a penalty for handball?
« on: Mon 07 Aug 2023 15:36 »
Perhaps being a player unaware of the Laws thinks the ball is dead

11
Also, corners where the ball has a distant relationship with the arc!!!   Perhaps the law should require themajority of the ball should be inside the arc.
Has any senior referee ever permitted the same positioning of the ball in respect to the penalty spot?

General Discussion / Re: Andre Marriner - LCFC v CFC

Very mixed day for Andre and team.

Was an ‘orange’ for me ...... Again was an ‘orange’ for me,
This talk of "orange" indicates a situation is debatable.  Surely a red should only be given where the referee is 100% certain that what they have seen (or VAR) has shown them. If it's orange  then surely it's yellow!!

General Discussion / Re: A TAYLOR: ARSENAL V M CITY

I would venture to suggest that his greater ability to manage such a scenario may well be one of many reasons why he's a FIFA official and I'm not
I would venture to suggest that those who are seen as role models should apply the law/sanctions in a way that younger and less experienced referees can watch and emulate!!!

Bruno's comment to the ref was probably in Portuguese so that's why Tierney looked shocked!

It could well have been in Geordie Portuguese so Tierney would have no chance!

It takes us all our time to speyk Ingleesh in Wiggin!!!
