There are 3 other shirts he could have worn but some incompetent at the PGMOL chose the one that clashed the most. Utterly ridiculous as well as vile. Sort it out Howard! 34

The only thing I cussed him out on was the vile rag he wore. Game was scrappy but with moments of nice football from both sides. Felt a bit for Eze, he deserved a goal - Palaces MOM for me. Please can we have Jeff back, I miss him and his gorgeous smile!! Thought Graham did well, allowed a physical game but nothing that crossed the lines, stepped up when needed, fair & consistent with both teams, allowing similar incidents to go or be penalised. Don't disagree with any of the YC's.
The Eze goal, I know it was correct in Law to disallow it but as a football fan I hate it. When it's mm like that my view is go with the ARs call, if the AR calls it then fine, confirm it was a correct call if you must but... I hate VAR being used like that when there are cast iron penalties that are not given or a wrong penalty not being corrected because they don't fulfil the 'clear & obvious' criteria. Those are the calls VAR should be correcting, imo. I get the it's factual argument and I understand that but it feels so harsh when it's literally a mm & that decision was for my team so no sour grapes! 2 pen shouts both correct imo, the first one the Palace player kicks Smudger instead of the ball & goes down like a sack of spuds looking for a pen - seriously!! The second one the Palace player runs into Zabi and they both go over. Neither a pen & he called both right in real time. Good rapport with the players from both teams, spoke to them calmly and with a smile at times. I like him as a referee (he's a very nice man as well), I enjoy getting him on our games because you know what you are getting with him. He's always been a fair referee when I have seen him & we are probably one of his most officiated teams over the years. He deserves better than the way he has been treated. He's never been a spectacular referee but he's always been a safe and steady pair of hands. Just leave the vile kit at home next time please! PS I doubt the conditions really came over very accurately on the TV - there was a rather strong sea breeze and the position of the ground and the open corners in the stands make it somewhat of a wind tunnel. It was a bit brutal at times! 37

Probably the exact reason he was getting abuse from them - because he wasn't allowing them to get away with/falling for their nonsense 41

It is still very tedious when you get these ridiculous comments every single week, on a forum for referees, especially given that the postcode rule was abolished at least 8 years ago. The sort of boring comments you expect off of fans not people who are supposed to be referees. 44

Happy with both of our appointments - how lovely to see Graham Scott get a PL middle. In my view he has been very poorly treated. Always been a steady ref in our games previously so pleased his eventual middle is with us.
