Not a blip I'm afraid he was at Hillsborough on Saturday and I was looking forward to seeing him live. Very disappointed tbh. It was as if the comments about the Newcastle game had affected him and he was determined to be seen as not being swayed by a large home crowd.
Got in the way twice due to poor positioning and on both occasions stopped a very promising Wednesday attack where Cardiff were short of defenders. Once I can excuse but twice at this level isn't good.
Booked Wednesdays players and let Cardiff off for the same offences. One Wednesday player clearly won the ball as it was bang in front of where I was sitting and the Cardiff player knew he was in trouble as the Wednesday player was away from him and went down as if shot. No contact and some how Sam gave a free kick and a yellow card. Clear simulation from the Cardiff player and a very very poor decision.
The worst decision was his failure to give a penalty for a blatant shirt pull on Ashley Fletcher in the penalty area, which was a KMI as could have been 2-2. Everyone in the North Stand saw it and most in the ground saw it but not the person that mattered. On the performance at Hillsborough he's not ready for the PL but then a lot of comments on here have praised him.
Our failure to take our chances cost us the game as we should have been out of sight before Cardiff scored and poor goalkeeping cost us a goal, but IMO not a great day for Sam
