Did anyone see the incident Tuchel is referring to here?
Gabriel picked up a goal kick after the Ref had blown the whistle.
According to Tuchel the Ref said it was a childish mistake and won't give such a penalty in the CL quarter final.
Completely missed it in real time but managed to find a clip. Whistle blows, goalkeeper kicks to Gabriel who picks it up and replaces it in the 6-yard box. Technically it should be penalised but it would be highly unusual and I assume he assessed the huge risks to match control. Also probably isn’t “what football expects” in the exact moment (unless you’re Thomas Tuchel). Referee called the Saka incident very well, agree with other posts here. I never understand why attackers don’t want to stay up in situations like this…it’s a certain goal if he doesn’t make the contact with Neuer!

Coote not a favourite referee of Villa fans.
I think you'd find it hard to find any set of fans listing Coote as one of their favourites!

Impossible to try and second guess Rosetti, but assuming they go with 19 officials again, this is my current view:
12 Dead-certs: Taylor, Oliver, Turpin, Letexier, Zwayer, Orsato, Kovacs, Makkelie, Marciniak, Vincic, Gil Manzano + the CONMEBOL exchange referee
3 Very likely: Sanchez Martinez, Dias, Gozbubyuk,
4 Others: Massa (although Guida seems quite in favour at the moment for the 2nd Italian spot), Nyberg, Peljto, Scharer (or Meler if unfit).
This would mean 2 officials from England, France, Netherlands, Italy and Spain
Regarding Frappart, I'm not sure they will have 3 French officials unless they increase the referee pool to say 23 or 24 referees.

Some tremendous appointments in recent weeks for Taylor & team (Euro 2024 playoff, France v Chile, Man City v Arsenal, Utd v Liverpool, now PSG v Barca). I presume they are looking at Taylor for the CL final (if neither Arsenal or Man City make it) or the Euros final.

I didn’t watch the entire match so can’t comment on Brooks’ overall game, but I’m amazed some people think that isn’t a penalty. Lamptey at best skims the ball but then fully takes Jesus out. Even the Brighton manager had no complaints afterwards which says a lot.

Once again thought Gillett handled himself very well, reinforcing my high personal opinion of his ability as a ref.
Please correct me if wrong, but it seems like the VAR/AVAR are refereeing the Villa v Spurs match for Chris Kavanagh and instructing him what to do?
Wasn't it other members of the on-field team who were assisting Kavanagh with the red card decision? Not 100% sure on that though.
Yes, I thought Darren Bond (4th official) was very clear & direct on that. I think the VAR/AVAR missed Kavanagh physically showing the red card in real-time, so they were trying to understand if he had prior to them confirming the on-field decision and going "check complete".

From the BBC match report: “John McGinn was dismissed for a reckless [/b] tackle” Aarrgh, one of my pet hates!!!
Very clear red card and a very solid display from the referee.

Based off of highlights, looked an excellent showing. Great advantage in the box before the Palace goal, most would've blown.
I wondered what on earth he was signalling after the goal and had to rewatch a few times to try and Identify what he was playing advantage for… I’m still none the wiser. Seems like a steady start. I suspect he will get another go before the season is finished if he gets the same treatment as Welch, Smith & Allison.
