I am really surprised that Manzano got the Milan vs PSG game after already refereeing PSG vs Dortmund in the first round of fixtures. He also gave a controversial penalty for handball in that one.

2
Orsato had PSV vs Sevilla in Eindhoven in last year's UEL knockout rounds

General Discussion / Re: M OLIVER - Coventry v Luton EFL

There was contact there from the keeper, maybe shouldnt have been a yellow for diving, but just play on. Since it's Michael Oliver though, I'll allow it

I'm pretty sure it will be yellow. Man city in blue, Real in their black kit. Courtois normally wears a blue top, but he cant wear that against City. His second choice is normally red, in the exact same shade as the red Macron refereeing kit.

Foul detection all over the place

Marciniak could be a candidate

I don’t think Oliver will be getting many teams at the top with Newcastle firmly in the CL reckoning.

Maybe not Newcastle, Manchester United or Spurs matches, as they're in direct competition for the Champions League spots. Could still be on the Man City vs Arsenal match later this month, as both are in the title race. Neither are in a direct battle with Newcastle, with an 11 point gap between City and Newcastle

I really hope Michael Oliver gets the City vs Arsenal game

General Discussion / T Stieler - Bayer vs Bayern

Adli was booked twice for simulation by Stieler, who then overturned both decisions after a VAR review. They both shook hands after the yellow cards were rescinded.

34' handball should be a penalty. The kick on Tomiyasu is worse than the one on Jesus when Arsenal played Liverpool and Michael Oliver gave a penalty straight away.

Del Cerro Grande has been replaced by Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea in Berlin.

Big game for him then. Hope all goes well for Ricardo de Burgos, but I am afraid that I can't remember the last time I saw an above average performance from him.

General Discussion / Re: Lee Mason Leaves PGMOL
« on: Sat 18 Feb 2023 07:06 »
PGMOL can confirm that Video Assistant Referee Lee Mason has departed the organisation by mutual consent.

Lee was a Premier League referee for 15 years and oversaw 287 top flight matches during that time, with his last coming during the closing stages of the 2021/22 season. His full career in the professional game saw the 51-year-old officiate in over 500 fixtures after he progressed to the Football League in 1998.

We would like to thank Lee for his dedicated service to the professional game and wish him all the best for the future.

Well, Howard Webb has got to draw the line somewhere...

Could it be that Michael Oliver isnt involved in the top 4 clashes due to Newcastle being there?

I can assure you that this is a handball that I'd expect to be given in La Liga, not saying it is correct.
