I was at the sutton vs barrow game in person as i'm a photographer, got as close to incident and subsequent discussions as i possibly could. It was a big call from Dan Robathan but Andy Davies honestly didn't seem to have a clue what to do. It was an embarrassing state of affairs. Barrow was adamant that there was a touch and I think others are right that refs should have an understanding of all the rules.

U18 Sheffield United vs Charlton Referee Please

5
Last time a premier league team had the same referee for two consecutive home games ? I thought this would be avoided at all costs

6
I was there at Gillingham today and in person I agree all 4 were penalties and well given

Anyone able to give the 2nd round appointments would be greatly appreciated. Especially the man in the middle for Baiteze vs SE Dons

8
Scott Oldham with one of the worst refereeing performances you’ll see in a long time at Charlton tonight

Would anyone been able to tell me who did Charlton U23s today as it was definitely a woman and different to original appointment

John Busby replaces Sam Purkiss at Charlton I don’t know if this was a last minute thing

I personally didn’t rate Dean yesterday. Ridiculous amount of cards for a game that was far from aggressive.
Only my personal opinion but I don’t think it’s fair that a GK being off the line only matters if the ball doesn’t go in. (Not Dean related )

Ollie Yates simply awful yesterday he forgot football was a contact sport didn’t keep the same rule book for the full 90 ridiculous yellow cards 32 fouls given

IMO Craig Hicks had a poor night at gillingham last night. Backing out of making nearly any decisions is to me worse than making the occasional wrong one. Definitely at least one sending off in the game however he did step up to play the hero and give gillingham their equalising penalty.

We had Gavin Ward for an u23s game today & he was awful even at that level ! How has he ever become a championship referee?? He always has to create a spectacle loves a card & he’s the kind of referee to realise he’s made a mistake and try & make for it with the rest of the game !

I was at Charlton vs Accrington so I can back up any comment made on John Busby. Absolutely abysmal lack of authority shown and had no idea of who was actually as guilty of wrongdoing as he lost control of the game that was in front of him.
As for Gavin Ward, he was terrible when he came on after starting as the 4th for the TV game at Millwall (I was there- not just going off what was seen on TV). Had an inept showing just a month a go at The Valley after deciding that a clear red was a yellow, missing a clear pen and then giving a pen for something was extremely weak. In any game however bad it is going, if you realise you make a mistake refereeing is never about evening it up/making up for your errors. Would be at the bottom half of league 1 refs. Maybe have been a bit harsh but I am sure everyone can agree that he isn't good enough to be refereeing regularly in the Championship. I feel it would of been a great appointment for Jarred Gillett.
Off topic but David Webb is one of the best refs I have seen this season!
