Did a check in early 1970's.Every ref.had a game in all 4 divisions by end of September.EXCEPT newcomers to the list.They usually had a Division 2 game in Nov/Dec and Division 1 in Jan/Feb.Sometimes a little later.....
You musn't take me too seriously.Perhaps I should have put..........after my post to convey the true meaning,considering the flak that above mentioned ref.gets on here.
Local press reports that the Rotherham manager was unhappy about the decision and also with AR N.Hopton who he accused of laughing and joking with Leeds players at half time. I have no more details and I did not watch the game/highlights etc I think Mr.Richardson felt the AR thought the non decision of hand ball was funny.........
Penistone also had a good bus service to Sheffield-in fact on Saturdays it operated every 30 minutes from Sheffield-Huddersfield,a novel way of spending almost 2 hours.Helped me to watch both Sheffield clubs,though,before I could drive. Sadly,no through service at all today,save for Northern Trains[perhaps take out last four words].
Anybody watched a programme about the Stasi and Dynamo Berlin who 'won' 10 consecutive East German titles?Can't remember which channel,but a cameo from Berndt Heynemann -very interesting[with sub-titles,so others apart from JCFC can understand!].
