Fully deserved! Kav has been one of the most consistent in the SG this season and this is a very well deserved appointment imo.

James must be wondering if his numbers will be coming out next, with the Carabao Final appointment on the back of the FIFA AR. A superb assistant who was always destined for the very top of the Elite game.

Good decision to give the goal as Diaz just stood his ground and the goalkeeper fell over.

As he has done most of the season and been penalised for it routinely.

Personally I thought his cautions were a tad inconsistent, much quicker to caution Everton than Manchester City players for virtually identical transgressions

My only issue with him too. YC threshold seemed to be a little skewed for both teams, but can see why the balance might be deemed to be in favour of City.

Given the current IFAB/PGMOL threshold for the awarding of a penalty for handball, I am scratching my head as to why all of a sudden this offence was harsh. I thought it was as nailed on as they come under the current handball guidelines, and suspect the beneficiaries of this decision might have something to do with this widespread perceived harshness.

I remember for a long while that I was the lone voice believing in him. So many people wrote him off. Have always believed in him and knew he would get his chance to shine. Absolutely loving seeing this run he’s on right now and long may it continue. He, Si Bennett and Dan Robathan are showing to be a great team, they compliment each other well. Really proud of Kav, he’s used everyone’s doubts as motivation to show what he’s really capable of. Love it.

FWIW, I didn't think it was a penalty. Purely from the pov that initially I thought it definitely was, then there was an angle that I thought it definitely wasn't a pen, and then another where I thought, oh actually it possibly could be. So much ambiguity and uncertainty surely meant that Jarred Gillett could not comfortably reach the mark of it being a clear and obvious error.
I also thought the advantage for the Wood goal was insane. The crouching down, holding the whistle told everyone watching he was blowing, he was ready, then he put his arm out and Wood bagged it. Such a great example of delaying the whistle until the absolute last second. ( Simon Hooper are you watching?) 

Also, notable mention to Si for the great non offside flag when I think everyone in the stadium and watching at home thought it was offside. I agree with other posters and agree that this is really shaping up to be the PL dream team atm.
Just wondering wishfully for the end of the season and if Kav is line for FAC Final this year, would that preclude Simon from being included in the Final team?

Thought it was an exemplary performance from Kav, and hopefully a sign of things to come with him getting more notable games in the PL this season.
