Does anyone know who replaced the 4th official at Gillingham yesterday? It wasn’t Aaron farmer as he was at Ebbsfleet refereeing

Whoever he was I wish he had replaced the ref!  ;)

2
Breakspear now refereeing at Gillingham

If you can call it that!  ;)

Charles Breakspear for Gillingham v Peterborough United, fortunately it's been postponed!  ;)

The Gillingham v Shrewsbury game has been moved to Wednesday 29th January

Oh good we've get Mr Kettle  :-[

... who gave the small matter of four penalties!

They all looked to be correct decisions though.

I did actually think that they were all correct but some of the other decisions during the game were pure Mr Kettle!

Alan Young - Probably the worst display of refereeing I've seen this season at the Gillingham v Rochdale game today.  Rochdale started time wasting in the first half, did absolutely nothing about it, missed at least one blatant hand ball and had BOTH sets of fans singing "You're not fit to referee"

It's his first season at league level and sadly it showed!

That would be why he added six minutes on at the end.

At least he didn’t let your number 34 get away with trying to get away players sent off with blatant play-acting.

But only added on 2 minutes in the first half when you'd been time wasting nearly all half!

The play acting was going on by Rochdale players as well (and confirmed by the videos shared on twitter!) 2 players going down clutching their faces when they hadn't been hit in the face - one of whose treatment when the trainer was called on was being given a drink!

Looks like I'm on Kettlewatch .....again

How come Kettle added 12 minutes of injury time?

Barnsley's win was tempered by a nasty injury to Moore, who was carried off following an aerial collision with Gabriel Zakuani of Gillingham after 82 minutes. There was an 8 minute delay because of the injury.

In fact both players were injured, Barnsley player Moore was carried off on a stretcher wearing a neck brace and oxygen mask and was kept in hospital overnight, was discharged in the morning.  Zakuani was also helped off the pitch and left on crutches.  12 minutes of added time was about right. As for Mr Kettle's performance let's just say it was inconsistent!

If two players of the same team collide and need attention there is no requirement for them to leave the field of play.  Complicating features could be the length of the stoppage (once assessment has been completed but more treatment is required, which can be completed off the pitch, one or both could be required to leave) and the presence of blood, which could require the injured player to be checked by a match official before returning to the field of play.

If a goalkeeper and an outfield player collide there is no requirement for them to leave the field of play.

These are not a recent changes.

That's what I thought.

But he made them both leave the field of play then immediately waved one back on but made the other wait (who tried to come straight back on) until the game had restarted, no blood involved and neither were checked off the pitch by an official.

Re : Lee Swabey at Gillingham v Peterborough on Saturday.

Re : The laws of the game - if you stop the game because a player is injured, the game should restart with a drop ball from where the ball was when the referee stopped the game - Correct? Because it didn't happen on Saturday the drop ball was taken from where the injured player was!.

Also couldn't understand how when two Peterborough players collided heads both had to leave the pitch after treatment but one was allowed to immediately return while the other was told to wait?
