Can I feel a bit uncomfortable about the appointment of:
1) A Manchester born/based referee for a FA Cup Quarter-Final in Manchester against Manchester United 2) The same referee as we had in the last round
Didn't they have any other referees available?
(PS We haven't had Jarred Gillett for ages)
Doesn't really matter who it is - Bruno Fernandes will surround them for every decision that goes against United anyway. His conduct in the Liverpool and Southampton games was disgraceful, frankly.
Some logic putting Bobby Madden on Bristol Rovers v Fleetwood with Barton and Brown in the dugout - he would have dealt with both of those as players when refereeing in the Scottish Prem.
No way the game at Anfield needs Turpin. The game in Amsterdam will be mouth tougher. Liverpool are an easy team to referee really.
Compounded by the poor reputation in recent times of England/English teams with Turpin as well it doesn’t make much sense.
Disagree. Two British teams who are vastly opposite politically, first time they've ever played each other competitively (incredibly). Needs an experienced head.
