Bit surprised to see gillett out again.
Was it his form that got him taken off cup final?

Was he ever on it ?
the fact he was woth the same assistants for a few games and then bankes jumps in one game before and gillett hadn’t an on field appointment it was the safe bet along with bankes doing a second leg

General Discussion / A Taylor-United v Villa
« on: Sun 15 Mar 2026 22:44 »
Taylor excellent ahain.got one corner wrong but overall excellent.
On villas possible offside, correct from gillett to stay out.no way could ya conclusively say it hit him although it looked like he did.
Taylor got to be short odds to be in St. James’s park next Sunday. No other option really.
Oliver to be at spurs

General Discussion / Chris Kavanagh- Liverpool v Spurs
« on: Sun 15 Mar 2026 19:05 »
Kavanagh excellent in an easy game bar 2 wrong decisions on non corners.
If richarlison went down and didn’t get shot off most likely a pen and red be given…

mental stuff altogether. French mail collaps looked identical to England’s from my view…

Pearce showing again why he is the best English official and one of best in world. Hopefully whatever problem world rugby have with him can sort it out before World Cup next year

Didn't Mark Clattenburg do a final in Europe having done a SF? May have been 1st leg?
Ya he did fiest leg of Bayern athletico

Agree regards the comment to the pen.

3 mins added?? Between the time the ref gave the pen and Kai Havertz scored was 2 mins!
along with 6 subs aswell

13
Meler had an excellent 85 mins imo.by far the best of first legs so far.
But that’s an absolute joke of a penalty.had to be ofr. So poor

Not entirely sure Bankes is a late replacement considering last year Brooks worked with his assistants for only 1 game before the final also. But If Gillett doesn't have a PL game next week then that would likely mean he was the original choice and got injured. Also seems slightly unusual to have a reserve ar who has already done the final?
Thibk it’s the fact gillett has been woth these 2ARs for a few weeks who aren’t usually in his team.if bankes was always planned,he wouldn’t have been given second leg

Bankes confirmed as ref for carabao final. Congratulations to all the officials.
Looks like a late replacement alright
