Thoughts on the penalty claim in the second half with the bear hug and pull to the ground?

General Discussion / Re: R JONES - Chelsea v Fulham« on: Sun 31 Aug 2025 11:49 »I have a feeling there might be a VAR change for Liverpool vs Arsenal tomorrow And quite rightly giving Fulham more ammunition for when they speak to the powers that be 7

So - we can expect consistency to go flying out of the window then?
Application of Law has now been replaced by the mindset of “who you know - not what you know” 8

I hope the Fulham back office are on the phone as we speak demanding a “tea and no biscuits” meeting

General Discussion / Re: Alina Pesu, Switzerland v Norway, Euro 2025« on: Thu 17 Jul 2025 22:33 »Substitutes and use of the electronic boards do appear to be a problem. They certainly struggle with multiple substitutions at the same time. I know it wont happen, but to go back in time and use printed number boards, be much easier if the actual player coming on, actually held up the number board of the player coming off! In American Football if players come onto the field en masse - then they get a 15 yard penalty applied to the subsequent kickoff giving them poor field position as a result. It stops that kind of thing happening 10
General Discussion / Re: Istvan Kovacs - PSG v Inter (UCL Final)« on: Sat 31 May 2025 21:58 »
Allowed an illegal kickoff to take place at the first kickoff with a PSG player 8 yards in the opposition half.
Also - a shedload of substitutes and stoppages in the second half only warranted 9 seconds to be added on? 11
General Discussion / Re: Man United - Aston Villa. Tom Bramall« on: Sun 25 May 2025 23:07 »I dont see what good making a complaint does, the game wont be replayed as there is no error in law. If anything - it could be described as an error in Officiating Mechanics 12
General Discussion / Re: Man United - Aston Villa. Tom Bramall« on: Sun 25 May 2025 18:08 »I think Aston Villa need to look at points dropped after European games this year long before they shout at TB - yes its a poor decision, one given out of an assumption the keeper had possession of the balll in his hands. He blew the whistle because he thought it was a foul. Under NO circumstances was VAR designed to ref those situationsWhy did he feel the need to rush to the whistle? The ball was heading into the net before the whistle, delay 2 seconds and avoid all problems its no different to offsides Is there nothing they can do (or put into procedure for the future) along the lines of the “Inadvertent Whistle” Rule that is used in the NFL if there is immediate continuing action (in this case the immediate scoring of the goal) when the whistle has no material effect on the play? 13
General Discussion / Re: Cup final appointment's because it is an official's "turn"« on: Sun 18 May 2025 07:38 »
Bear in mind back in the distant days - the appointment was sometimes given as a “thank you” to a retiring referee

International Appointments / Re: Womens Euro 2025 Officials« on: Mon 31 Mar 2025 17:59 »
Slightly poor that the country with one of the biggest women’s leagues on the continent can only manage to get one on-field official appointed to the Confederation’s main tournament

Just to expand this slightly - the incompetence from the powers that be that resulted in Alan Wiley never getting his FIFA Badge were legendary
