Why did he feel the need to rush to the whistle? The ball was heading into the net before the whistle, delay 2 seconds and avoid all problems its no different to offsides

Is there nothing they can do (or put into procedure for the future) along the lines of the “Inadvertent Whistle” Rule that is used in the NFL if there is immediate continuing action (in this case the immediate scoring of the goal) when the whistle has no material effect on the play?

Slightly poor that the country with one of the biggest women’s leagues on the continent can only manage to get one on-field official appointed to the Confederation’s main tournament
