General Discussion / Re: The VAR thread
« on: Tue 18 Jun 2019 21:28 »
VAR has always applied to penalties and encroachement, etc. - I think you have to have a zero tolerance policy because it is like offside, you are either on or you are not.

Wasn’t used in the England v France U21 game, England GK well off his line to save the first penalty

It reminds me of the statement during the WC which said bookings had been reduced due to use of VAR

General Discussion / Re: M ATKINSON - Wolves v Man U

I would have thought that it should be the on field Referees decision as to overturning a red card as it is a matter of opinion not fact so surely Atkinson should have watched it himself pitchside and made his own mind up

If you watch carefully I think the AR said something to make turn back

5
I think the issue is that that he “cut the grass” to indicate it defiantly wasn’t a penalty so what did he see?

General Discussion / Craig Pawson-Fulham v Spurs
« on: Mon 21 Jan 2019 09:28 »
2 poor cautions imo,Rose for alleged dive when there was definite contact at speed and Sánchez when Mitrovic wrestled him to the ground,he got up quickly but didn’t actually do anything to warrant a caution

General Discussion / Kevin Friend Cardiff City v Spurs

Suprises me that Mr Friend insisted that Son had to leave the field of play after receiving treatment,he received treatment from a cautionable offence so he should have been able to continue

He wasn’t very good in the Spurs v Juventus game last season

Martin Atkinson has really let Lee Probert down, how could he have missed it,he took his shirt of and threw it away

Fully agree with this-I’m sure the player will accept the caution woth good grace-I suppose all the Leicester players had similar tee shirts on in case they scored and would have known the consequences- a player SHALL be cautioned for removing his shirt-don’t blame the ref

Only saw highlights but what are people’s thoughts on RC for DOGSO

Thought it was very harsh myself
