It’s so bizarre - the ICC aren’t always reliable for appointments, but it’s literally a week and a half til the tournament starts! Surely they must be releasing the list soon!

2
Excellent decision rightly praised across the board. I’d love Webb to put him straight back in the PL next match week!

3
The decision will surely rule Gazi Sohel out of the tournament - wonder how he’s feeling today!

4
It appears as though the ICC have issued an ultimatum for the BCB to decide on their participation by Wednesday with Scotland lined up as a potential replacement. I feel if the team pull out, it will also impact Gazi Sohel’s participation

Does anybody know when we may hear of mid season promotions coming through? They must be due in the near future…

Select Group 2 / Re: Fri 16th - Wed 21st Jan 2026
« on: Sun 18 Jan 2026 14:29 »
Not sure I saw excitement - what I did see was a referee identifying and correctly penalising the severity of both challenges, something I have been critical of official in the past. Well done Langford!

8
How interesting - seems like a rather silly appointment from the icc now, given his lack of on field.

9
Interesting indeed - could be a misprint from Cricinfo. If true, could be Sharfuddoula not quite feeling well enough for on field or something around Illingworth and the specific venue?

10
An excellent and intriguing piece of analysis from ICC appointments. It will be intriguing to see if you are indeed correct. I feel Illingworth is almost certain to officiate India v Pakistan. I also happen to wonder if this will be the last ICC tournament for some umpires - Illingworth, Tucker, Reiffel

11
An excellent appointment for Sohel - leaves 3 available spots…

12
For what reason do you predict this, Dhanush?

13
Highly surprised with Sharfuddoula indeed - seems an odd appointment given the circumstances.

General Discussion / Re: Anthony Taylor - Arsenal v Liverpool
« on: Thu 08 Jan 2026 22:13 »
This is where law is sometimes stupid - the action of pushing Bradley off the field is far more likely to cause further harm to an opponent than many acts of violent conduct (for example, the hair pull correctly penalised last night!) Stupid action from Martinelli, hopefully it hasn’t negatively impacted Bradley’s injury
