One of the unanticipated advantages of the multi ball system is presumably that teams could be given one each to respect, prostrate themselves before, etc, in their own half without getting in the way of anybody else.

Almost exactly two years ago Richard Eley had a crowd of 11000 at Oldham in what was billed as his biggest game to that point, and seems to have continued quite rapid progress since, so I doubt if a slightly bigger game up the road will be a problem.

A few years ago somewhere in the media, I forget where, Stramash was listed as a scorer.

Is it a first for Malta to have someone in Category 1?

I'm not sure of the justification for appointing 4Os only at National League grounds, but as this is the case it's rather odd that an exception has been made at Gainsborough.

My one view of Chay Hathway left me impressed, one of last season's better performances.

Referees missing compared to last year's lists
Ryan Atkin
Michael Crusham
John Mulligan
Christopher Pollard
Scott Simpson
Ben Wyatt

Three of these five referees have refereed in the EFL and I have added their names to my database of 'final games', as follows:

John Mulligan, Wigan v Lincoln, Feb 2025
Chris Pollard, Forest Green v Harrogate, Jan 2024
Scott Simpson, Harrogate v Fleetwood, April 2025.

Bit surprised with Ryan Atkin who had a piece on the BBC website only last month on being an openly gay referee. Chris Pollard was totally expected, given that his last game was over 18 months ago, but do we know whether any of the other missing referees and ARs are moving into a different field, for example coaching? There seem to be an awful lot of ARs missing from this year's list.

I don't know if they're moving into coaching or doing something else, but Simpson, Crusham and Mulligan have all refereed friendlies in recent weeks.

Michael Crusham and Scott Simpson both have NLN games on Saturday.

He seemed fine to me, in comfortable control throughout. VAR appeared to take an age with some fairly straightforward cases, though the only one in which a decision was changed, involving the ball going out of play near the halfway line, was presumably difficult because of a lack of good camera angles.

1 is correct, I read your post too hastily.
So:
1 Petworth
2 Singleton
3 Winchelsea
4 Hardham
5 Trotton.
I suspect that any ability to baffle fine minds has mostly to do with selecting some relatively small places!

JCFC appears to be on the right lines with 2, 4 & 5, and is correct that these are from the west. 3, however, is not, as Microscopist has realised.

Sorry to have missed this as it relates to my native county.
For Whistleblower's additions I offer:
1 Rottingdean
2 Hassocks
3 Worthing
5 Burgess Hill
If only JCFC is allowed to play (apologies if this is the case) these could substitute:
1 How much is that doggie in the window?
2 Just one hundred
3 Blues victory
4 Tough meat
5 Keep the horse moving
Back in my school days I had a girlfriend who lived in one of the very few houses at Woodmans Green, this is the first I've heard mention of it in years!

According to the footnotes the Brighouse reprieve is because Bemerton Heath have taken voluntary demotion. ('Thou hast granted my request' perhaps comes to mind). The Farsley reprieve has gone to Barwell.

I first became aware of her as a Liverpool player when staying at her parents' B & B in Llandudno about twenty years ago. It's been good to see her considerable progress since then and even better that it's continuing.
