He was good and stayed out of trouble. Only errors were an incorrect goal kick awarded and the foul that led to the Still yellow card wasn’t remotely a foul. Not excusing Still’s reaction of course.

I ran the line to Donohue once. He wasn’t great and he wasn’t exactly friendly either. If anything I find out him quite stand offish. Anyway he’s achieved much more in the game than I have so I have to be realistic about my own shortcomings!

Anthony Taylor had an eventful game in the Bayern PSG quarter final.

It was classic Taylor. Unafraid to dish cards out and make strong decisive decisions.

He is a very black and white referee I think which may have got him into trouble here.

The first red card challenge was an orange challenge at worst. And in a game played in a decent spirit he could have gone yellow and I don’t think anyone would have complained.

Exactly the same as above on the second red card which was probably a reckless arm rather than a violent elbow.

These two decisions probably whipped the match into a frenzy in a manner that was perhaps unnecessary.

And sadly then Taylor was forced to overturn a last minute penalty decision for a challenge on Muller.

I’m more of a fan of Michael Oliver who seems a bit more diplomatic who probably would have guided this match home in a less frenetic way.
