Peter Hartley is in his last year of umpiring now he's 65, and it's clear that he's slowly running down his workload towards retirement. Only doing County Championship so far this year, but only 5 games out of the 11 rounds we've had so far, 4 of which have been for Durham/Yorkshire home games, and the other being only at Trent Bridge. He seemingly stepped back from T20 this year but strangely did one at Headingley, which I don't think was planned as the PA announcer said: "please welcome your umpires Hassan Adnan and Graham Lloyd". Must have been a late change as that night Hassan Adnan was at Leicester. Hartley might do a couple of One Day Cup games alongside new and upcoming umpires, and I bet he'll have Yorkshire Durham at Headingley in late September as his swansong in front of his old home crowd.
As for our friend Ghosty, perhaps he's umpired his last game? Hasn't done one even at 2nd team level since 1st July according to Cricket Archive...

He has umpired a couple of men 2nd team games this year, in addition to the women's 50 over games, but the further away he is from the County Championship the better! Still can't forgive him for giving Masood run out when he had his head turned on the action v Kent at Scarborough in the 50 overs in 2023.
