Think Gillett is the obvious pick now. Bankes would also deserve the final but can't see him doing a 2nd leg then final. Brooks did a 1st leg then final last year though but think that's slightly different..

England also stuck with his on-field decision of no handball (like Hallam) in a game last season. Fulham v Everton I believe

Both Dorgu and Maguire were correct no handball decisions in my opinion.

Disgraceful.
I seem to recall it was another Anglesey match (Amlwch Town?) a couple of seasons ago where a manager was found guilty of assaulting a young linesman, also caught on camera. I believe he rightly got a lifetime ban from football but only a suspended prison sentence, which was farcical given the nature of the attack. Let’s hope the football authorities and police are a bit stronger in this case.

The game yesterday was in Porthmadog but Anglesey is where Trearddur Bay are from....although they play their home matches in Bangor... Bit of a strange club really....based in a small village and not much of a fanbase but seem to have a bit of money behind them.

Quite a lot of experience between the 4 officials at Brighton on Monday

Bit random that his AR's swapped sides today compared to usual.

Can't blame him too much for missing the Keane red live. Clear 2nd yellow given to Grealish although some might not give that to avoid upsetting the crowd/everton more.

Craig Pawson was excellent, he shouldn't be associated with the offside or punished as a result of it.

Lee Betts was awfully poor today, 2 out of 3 calls wrong, tight i know, but still not good, not good becoming poor thanks to a corner being given.that should've been a throw in and a very clear Liverpool.throw that should have been given to Fulham.

As for the offside, it looks offside, it doesn't mean it is, however I think.theyve got it wrong, and if it is i hope that Madley and Craig Taylor are subject to the same treatment Darren England and Dan Cook got 2 years ago.

The 1st overturn for the Fulham goal was great work, quick and easy for a such a tight decision, if they've got the second one wrong after looking at it for a good 3 minutes then major questions should be raised about the pairs ability to operate as VARS in a suitable manner.

Don't think either of the offside decisons were poor by Betts... especially the Wirtz one.

Both of Madleys AR's injured/unavailable by the looks of it. Hopton and Taylor have both been replaced twice in the last week.

I’m surprised we haven’t been given a trial official at Fulham yet this season… usually we were the go to place for new officials.

Perhaps the Lewis Smith trial last season which doesn’t go very well for him v Villa torpedoed that for a while.

That’s not entirely true about Lewis Smith. That performance probably did hamper his development a bit but he was around in the premier league a fair bit last season.

Ipswich had him 3 times - and probably put in one of the best performances I saw live last season in Ipswich v Fulham - and I think he had a couple of others too.

But yes I am surprised we’ve yet to see him in the premier league this season.

He did the "PL Summer Series" along with Bramall this year so surprised he hasn't had any games also....maybe made a few mistakes in the championship?

Good decision near the end not to award Saka a free kick on the edge of the box. Looked like hardly any contact (maybe none at all)

Nelson clearly highly rated as he was only promoted to SG2 in the summer. Think the VAR's do a bit of training during international tournaments but still surprising that Gillett gets two PL games in a week straight away.

General Discussion / Re: FIFA List 2026
« on: Sun 21 Dec 2025 17:31 »
Wade Smith (SG1 AR) and Leoni Harland (WSL AR) have been added to the FIFA List for 2026!

Lee Betts (SG1 AR) has stepped down from the FIFA List.

Grace Lowe was the other AR who left the England list (wsl ref now so no longer an AR)

Whilst I know our FIFA ARs do a lot of games I am surprised there isn't one on this game
Aren't James and Graham SG2?

Martinez Munuera is the 5th Spanish referee with a league stage game this season. Quite a lot when you consider they don't really have a referee at the moment that is guaranteed to go the WC.
