I believe that’s an EFL debut for Emily Heaslip - with 2 games!

Crewe with Stephen Parkinson, who has already refereed this fixture last season, and Steven Copeland, who gave Crewe a penalty last season at home to Notts County which was ludicrous!

I'm hoping to see a better performance from Stephen Parkinson than when I last saw him at Crewe Alex.
Was decent at Plymouth Argyle on Saturday

It all leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I'm not going to say what I think because I'd have to ban myself!

General Discussion / Re: Another poor weekend for VAR.

Imo poor is being nice. Personally i think it’s now an embarrassment.

More dross from the VAR booth this afternoon..

I can’t understand how it took so long for the decision to be made.
Because it was not obvious,it was not clear and obvious.

Zac Kennard kettle not even close to being as good as his father , totally inconsistent, even a clear error in law , 10 yellow cards in a game without a bad tackle from either side. 11 if you count the one for Tom cleverley which he gave for dissent after making a clear error in law , whilst I never condone dissent it’s pointless and gives the referee another decision to make. I hope I never ever see this guy again . And hope he reflects on his very inconsistent performance.

Extremely impressive that VAR managed to find a clear and obvious error after looking for 5 minutes.

7
Significant and prolonged holding of the shirt not even sure he’s let go yet he held on so long , clear foul clear Penalty kick.

After reading a few posts regarding Mr Drysdale I have to admit to having been a little worried about his appointment to this match , how wrong I was , this was without doubt the best refereeing performance I have seen in league one this season, I couldn’t believe how fit he was , consistently up with play in a high tempo match , he remained calm and totally in control refereeing without fear or favour , his foul detection accuracy was extremely impressive, he appeared to have a great rapport with the players and the thing that impressed me was he was smiling throughout, obviously enjoyed himself and after so many years that was great to see, I don’t care what I’ve read before, based on today’s performance I’d be happy to see him every week . Absolutely excellent and a credit to the efl.

As Iv stated on numerous occasions those new breed robotic refs are imo not good enough for SG1 status, a trend seems to happen where by first half minimal cautions happen, then in the second half we see 4/5/6 all the time, it’s far too lobsided, on contrib/panal go back 7-15 years ago, if you had 0 first half and 5/6 second half majority of time the observer would focus on the lob sided balance and how could you of prevented that in the 2nd half.
Bram I personally don’t like as a referee, one would hope people develop their own style
If you have said it numerous times then you have added nothing new to the discussion by repeating yourself, in addition I have read your post several times just so I’m sure I’m not missing something and unfortunately I’m struggling to see anything constructive in your post , may I suggest in future posts you read the forum rules before posting and refrain from repeating your persistent criticism of  younger officials (with the exception of Thomas Kirk)and instead offer some constructive comment on their performances. I look forward to your future posts.

Ok let’s leave it as it is  for these divisions. But please use general discussion for premier and championship matches. Happy new year to all .x

General Discussion / Re: Keith Hackett.........AGAIN !!!!!

I’m going to remind you all to refrain from personal insults towards the subject matter , by all means critique his refereeing in the past, his record in charge of pgmol, and his media comments but please refrain from any personal remarks . Our forum is above all that , many thanks to you all in advance.

........which is why I asked the question politely.

I hope I didn't come across as being insulting in any way shape or form as in any case as a mere fan I am in no position to criticise in any refereeing capacity.

It is only the fact that every week he seems to hold court and sometimes in a manner that if it was someone like myself saying the same I would have to answer to group admin to explain.
No you didn’t it’s just something I want to avoid as his name does seem to bring out strong feelings .
