Booking Charles for not shaking his *the refs hand at the end of the game was very pedantic and pathetic

He was dreadful, very inconsistent. One of the poorer displays I've seen in a while

General Discussion / Argentina vs Morocco - Olympics 2024

What was everyone's view of this game?

Refereed by Glenn Nyberg of Sweden

15 minutes of added on time at the end of the game - which is far too long in my opinion.

Argentina score an equaliser, in the 16th minute of injury time, which to me seemed very harshly ruled out for another dodgy offside call but the VAR decision took over 90 mins due to crowd trouble.

Game finished after 2 hours of suspension with the last 3 minutes being played out.

Even though the offside call was correct. I can't stand VAR, I prefer going to a league 1 game these days. Football shouldn't be decided by a computer. I just hope VAR stays away from the lower leagues. Haven't seen many complaints from many fans about the standard of refereeing when VAR isn't in operation. A magical moment in the living room spoiled by a marginal offside call. This coming from an Evertonian who should of had 3 penalties awarded against them. Ahhh VAR!

I would of thought the referee would have abandoned the game after an incident like this? With the result at 2-1

Hi I am new to this forum so please bare with me.

A match today between Chaves and Estoril finished in bizarre circumstances in the Portuguese Liga.

Estoril were leading 2-1 at Chaves in the 92nd minute some of the ultras of Chaves stormed the pitch and went to attack the Estoril goalkeeper and Estoril midfielder both who reside from the canary Islands.

I have attached highlights of the game and will try and upload the 2 minute video online of the pitch Invasion.

Basically what happened was that the referee - Nelson Almeda after 10 minutes of
play being halted decided to send the 2 estoril players off for what I believe as self defending themselves whilst being attacked from the chaves ultras.

I have never seen this before and really think its up there with one of the worst officiating decisions I have seen in football.

What makes it even worse is that Chaves equalised to make it 2-2 in the 20th minute of injury time!

Just would like people's thoughts of this incident.

The youtube comments underneath this video seem to agree that the referee handled this poorly.
