His terrible week continues clear second yellow not given for a trip just outside the box, terrible officiating
Should have been given a week off rather than a promotion
To be fair, the Stoke v Ipswich game came after the appointments for yesterday were released.

Appeal for a qualified referee at Southend tonight at 7:45 .
One that knows what to do at penalty kicks?

I like Charles Breakspear and find him a very good referee at League 1, League 2 and National League level, but given the length of the National List, I find it bizarre that he has been appointed to his second Rochdale match in the space of 38 days!

Zac Kennard kettle not even close to being as good as his father , totally inconsistent, even a clear error in law , 10 yellow cards in a game without a bad tackle from either side. 11 if you count the one for Tom cleverley which he gave for dissent after making a clear error in law , whilst I never condone dissent it’s pointless and gives the referee another decision to make. I hope I never ever see this guy again . And hope he reflects on his very inconsistent performance.
Wow, this sounds exactly like his father: inconsistent, errors in law, too many cards - talk about a chip off the old block.
Dad must be very proud of him.
I have to say that I’ve seen a few reports on Kettle Junior and I would say the majority have been relatively good, but when things haven’t been, it’s been very quickly picked up on.
As for Kettle senior, the views of Nemesis are entirely quantifiable given that I’m sure he has seen many many more games than most of us on here to justify his comments.
Ahem.... I saw Trevor Kettle 16 times and as I kept replying every time his appointment to a Rochdale game was quoted on here, apart from the second of those 16 matches (Scunthorpe away, Easter Saturday 2004), he seemed to keep all his eccentricities for elsewhere. I'll be seeing Kettle Jr on Saturday for his fourth Dale game; the other three have been absolutely fine.

Aaron banister for our game at Solihull moors which I’ll be at seen Aaron before, and anyone seen Darren drysdale live as not seen him live as we have him at Roots hall on the Tuesday night which I’ll be at
Yes, I've seen Darren Drysdale live too many times. He recently appeared to have forgotten some basics around penalty kicks...

It's at times like these when I'm glad I've watched all my football in Division 3/4, League 1/2 and the National League.

If the referee was wrong in law, would the authorities not want the game replayed or is that something only done in other countries?
No thanks, we’ll take our point and move on. We’ve missed a few penalties this season, but thankfully went on to win the other games.

At the end of the day, it is unacceptable for officials at this level to be wrong in law. Get a decision wrong by all means, but by law, no. That goes for all 4 officials.
Incidents like this just cause a larger divide between referees and the wider public.
I agree. No doubt it’s a scenario even someone as experienced as Drysdale has probably never witnessed, and will have taken him and his team by surprise, but they should have been able to work it out as a collective. I’d be interested to know what Ryan East was trying to say to Drysdale as he ran away from the scene - it would not surprise me if he was the only man on the pitch who knew the law!
He was saying, “Don’t worry, Darren, I’ll save your bacon in a few minutes’ time.”

I have seen a video filmed by a fan behind that goal. As Mani is halfway through his run up, a whistle can clearly be heard. Drysdale didn’t blow it, but someone did and I wonder if that’s what affected his focus, hence why he didn’t take the kick.
The annoying thing here is that Drysdale seemed perplexed about what was going on, until Scunthorpe’s keeper ran out and pointed at the ball.
Having taken many sensible views on board about this, it appears the referee was wrong in a couple of ways; he should have apparently cautioned Mani and ordered a retake. The fact such an experienced National List referee did neither is very disappointing, but I’ve always found his performances erratic, and I’ve seen about 25 of them!

The commentators on dazn seemed to be of the opinion that the player who attempted to take the penalty kick may have touched the ball, cant be certain he did.
He didn’t. They were just guessing because nobody knew what was going on.

Unfortunately, this is wrong in law.
Expected outcome: A caution and a re-take, as the kick was not completed.
A similar thing happened last season between Altrincham vs. Newcastle U21.
In his post-match interview, our manager claims this is what he was told by the assessor.
