A good performance by Bankes let’s start with the positives -he tried to stay in the background played some good advantages and diffused the flashpoints with authority and a stern lecture , unfortunately in my opinion his foul detection is random strikes me that he’s indecisive and he seems to blow his whistle belatedly when a Foul occurs the YC for Fred was wrong based on the fouls he let go . So not spectacular but not poor either if he could improve his foul detection and be more decisive he would have all the tools in his arsenal to be a better referee

We need an explanation as to why the Weghorst penalty wasn't referred by VAR for an OFR. Also why isn't the AR involved in that foul as he should have been looking straight at it?

See the Premier League Sniper has returned. The defender gets the ball. We thirst acts like he is shot. Never a penalty.

I readily acknowledge my eyesight is not what it was, but I wasn't at all convinced the defender got the ball. If Bankes had awarded the penalty, I doubt VAR would have intervened.
