Throughout the game I was trying to think of words to describe his performance, the only one's that I could think of were 'automated' and 'manufactured'.
He officiates as if he is just off a production line of robotic referees who has learnt the Laws and applies them, albeit inconsistently, with no character, personality or game management application.
His ungainly running is like a cartoon character similar to Forrest Gump, arms and legs everywhere, getting to the position it advises in the manual then plonking himself there until he has to move to his next station without variety or anticipation. Very weird and not conducive to providing confidence in his refereeing ability.
I think all in the ground (players, staff and fans from both sides) were uncertain of what he was going to do next. He was ignoring obvious infringements, to the frustration of both sets of players, then blowing for one's that were not expected. Fellow fans kept asking me for in-match comments/explanations as they usually do, unfortunately I was struggling to find explanations to most of his decision making.
A strange official, I wonder if anyone else has experienced one of his 'performances'?

I saw him twice a 2-3 years ago when he was a 2B referee. I actually came on and replaced him when he came off injured! Pleasant chap. Actually thought he was decent for that level, but haven’t see him since his 2 promotions

I'm a little surprised at this tbh. Mr Wright does not rank amongst Tranmere favourites from our encounters in the NL, but while to my eye he got one or two key incidents wrong, he was fairly consistent.
