Title: Amusing 'Old Refs' story - TP (Tom) Campbell of Blackburn
Post by: dlrbrts on Sat 04 Dec 2021 14:18
I thought the viewers of this forum might appreciate this referee's anecdote, which I chanced upon while reading through some old archive newspaper reports

It was published in the Burnley News (Wednesday 26th March 1913)

A variant on this theme was Don Bradman (not intending a joke) saying that the umpire in the test match was a good batsman until his eyesight went!
