Title: Queens Park v Connahs quay
Post by: STRAIGHT RED on Sun 18 Nov 2018 11:56
Good to see a English team up in Scotland for the 4th round of the Iron bro cup.  The referee David Rock and the team were excellent and full marks to them all. A bit of experience gained in this
match for all the Match Officials. Keep it up.

I hope this is the year that Rocky gets his promotion. He has been knocking on the door for a few seasons

I expect we will see David Rock promoted this season, most all rounded for me in that Division.

Connahs Quay, England?

I suspect the reference was to an English refereeing team, though the assistants and fourth official were all SFA appointments.

I don't know how many times you've seen him (and all the others to make that judgement).

I've seen David Rock, who incidentally is a qualified coach in all manner of sports, in probably ten or more non-league matches and by and large he has been very good wthl minimal unnecessary intervention. He excels with two teams who want to get on with the game.
The highest level match I've seen him in was at Bromley last season and, sad to say, he had a very poor match in what was a challenging game.

Not sure what the "experience gained" was? Other than the unusual one of refereeing in a large famous stadium with 559  people rattling around inside. Probably a lower standard than his normal matches. Good expenses though.
