Much has been written and said about the horrific events in Copenhagen surrounding Christian Eriksen and nothing I can say can add to what has already has been said but just how good was Anthony Taylor in his handling the situation ?
Of course Anthony Taylor will have refereed the player dozens of times in the past and they will no doubt know each other quite well however like everyone else he is only human and no doubt will have been caught up with all of the emotion as events unfolded.
I am just as mere fan but so proud of the Match Officials tonight.

It has been nice to see the praise and respect for him on SM. Quite often team ref get forgotten but there has been a lot of praise out there, and rightly so, for how he handled it all.
He was awesome.

Prince William, President of the FA, has praised the actions and attitude of English referee Anthony Taylor during the incident. And if I may say so, well said sir.

Anthony would I'm sure say that every piece of training he has ever had is based around one of the primary duties and responsibilities of the referee, that of ensuring the safety of the players, and that he was 'just doing his job'.
But nothing in any training prepares you for what he had to deal with and his impeccable handling of the situation should be held in the highest regard.

What was so impressive about Taylor is that is didn't rush about putting himself at the centre of the incident and so ramping up what was already a very fraught and dramatic crisis. He radiated calm and made his decisions purposefully and sensitively. Of course he would have been emotionally involved like everyone present but he maintained just the right sense of authority and responsibility. It can't have been easy for anyone to have come back and completed the match in such difficult circumstances, match officials included. Everyone deserves enormous credit.

I totally agree with all the comments above. And it was good to see that Prince William's comments were reported on BBC NW News last evening noting that Anthony came from Altrincham.
Can I just add that Anthony Taylor having refereed Christian Eriksen many times in the past as mentioned in the op. is I think very pertinent. An incident like this must be upsetting whoever the player, but I imagine it adds another dimension to the emotion if it's a player you know and respect.
Whatever the arguments for and against resuming the game, credit to the officials and the players for the way they all responded.
A word too for the fans. It was also reported that the Finnish fans chanted "Christian, Christian" with the Danish fans responding with "Eriksen, Eriksen". Such a pleasing contrast with what some fans are capable of.

There are video clips on twitter of it - it was superb. In terms of fans, at every single game yesterday there were banners up with messages of get well soon - 6 different nations fans showing their support. Football really can unite people

I was pleased to hear Pat Nevin giving out praise to the third team on FiveLive as they were waiting for play to restart. It’s what I’d expect from him though, a thoroughly decent sort.

If so - probably the best person to have out there when this sort of thing happened

He did. One of the important females in his life is a nurse as well I believe, wife or sister - someone will remember. He is also an ex prison officer, which will have been a good grounding as well.
