Good to see jones get another game.
Mason also in from the cold, could it be a swansong?
-
The only 4th Official outside SG1 is Tony Harrington. The only VAR outside SG1 is Jared Gillett. Could this betoken possible promotion for these two gentlemen? It looks as if trial games as referee for SG2 aren't going to happen this year.
-
Surely, surely, surely this is Masons swansong
Would've been nice to see England and Hooper
-
Massive game for the card shark at Chelsea. It’s virtually winner takes all for a Champions League slot.
Also means Fulham will not have had Michael Oliver at all this season....

One would like to think so 🙏🙏🙏 but I can see him hanging around for next season and maybe beyond.
Put it this way - if you earned £60,000 plus in a job you enjoyed but at which were pretty ordinary at best but your employers, through a badly constructed employment contract, couldn’t get rid of you wouldn’t you stick around for as long as you could? (edited to fix quote thingy-hertsref)

with the season coming to a close are we going to see any ref promotions?
-
The Bankes and Coote double act rock into town for another session of fun and games!

Brooks and Gillett appear to be the front runners for next season - hoping Gillett gets his chance as I've always been impressed when he's done TV games.

In the Chelsea v Arsenal game lat Thursday, Andre Marriner obstructed Emile Smith Rowe by backing into him and preventing him taking a pass. The referee shrugged his shoulders and played on (to Chelsea's advantage).
In the last Liverpool game, Mike Dean backed into Fabhino, and he gave Liverpool a free kick.
Which was the correct call?

Dean wrong. See the Mike Dean discussion

Not impressed with Bankes tonight - first half very inconsistent, missed clear yellow card for Harrison. Better second half, but on a game with nothing riding on it he could have been better!

Thats disappointing! Wasn't watching but its a shame he didn't take his chance to impress

Oh dear Mike Dean. He’s given a free kick for Leicester and it’s a clear pen for Chelsea. VAR hasn’t intervened either :o
-
Disgusting scenes at Chelsea and the mass brawl.
Hopefully the FA will slap charges on both sides for failing to control their players.

And what will they do ? Fine them £50,000, big deterrent I'm sure the clubs are really worried. Now if it was points......

Obviously not considered a mass brawl, only fined them £22,500 each. They will probably pay it out of petty cash. Chelsea probably spent more on Champagne at the weekend.
