I see Paul Tierney is VAR for the Brighton game on Saturday. Who has replaced him as 4O for the Cup Final? I assume his injury makes him unsuitable for a 4O role in case Oliver was injured.

Stuart Attwell Has now replaced Tierney as FO.

With Fulham down surely the Southampton game could have had a SG2 trial attached to it?

With Fulham down surely the Southampton game could have had a SG2 trial attached to it?
Agree. Even though both Brooks and Gillett will have their most important games next weekend(playoff semi), they should be given trial games this week like Southampton vs Fulham and Burnley vs Leeds but sadly no, which means there probably will not be any trial games for SG2 this season. Makes me wonder if there will still be any promotions. :-\
-
I suggest that a playoff semi final second leg is likely to be a rather better indicator of suitability for promotion than a dead rubber involving a relegated team.
-
Not good appointing again, Jones could have had the middle in one of his fourth official games, likewise Madley could have been given the west brom v liverpool game.
Still no middle for Mason, wonder if he will get a middle in the last round and then retire?

Disappointing this week after a few good weeks of appts
Friend deserves the big games after a few solid games in previous weeks. The title celebration is a deserved game in my opinion
Scott gets a nice chance on Burnley Leeds. Good to see him get an opportunity
I was in disbelief when I saw Pawson on the 3 oclocker. This was an ideal chance to give an SG2 this game. They must be just using VAR on big games like with Gillett last week for trials. They could at least have given it to England or Jones
Marriner back in after an absence last week. From a fairness point of view he deserves it. Big game for Hammers
Coote getting weekly games means he must be well regarded by Mr Riley. Good for him and nice to see him getting more experience on a nothing game. His performances are getting more consistent now he's reffing weekly
Nice to see Atkinson back. I'm sure he's OK but I wonder if fitness will be an issue doing 2 games in 4 days
Dean deserves a game after sitting out the PL last week. I'm sure Madley will be in the midweek games so its still an OK appt
Mkss with his usual game. An important one this week however
Does anyone know when we'll find out the midweek games. Thx!

Seems Rob Jones was promoted to hold up the board as 4th Official this season, how will he improve when the favourites are always out for Mr Riley, time Mike retired as he has made some poor appointment this season. It is time some of those SG1 referees are moved on to give the likes of Rob Jones and others the games they need to gain more experience.

GameDay2021, I think some might argue that his recent consistency slipped somewhat with last night's performance.

Surely we could have got Michael Oliver at least once, now that the result doesn't affect Newcastle? And don't call me Shirley!

Man United play Fulham on Tuesday 18th May. Have the appointments of the officials been announced yet?
Ah, just seen it's Lee Mason for that game - a final goodbye?

Excellent appointment for Mike Dean but it is very absurd. A 52-year-old ref will be ready to do 2 matches within 50 hours. wow! I would suggest Mr Dean to be Moss’s VAR and Simon Hooper comes to be a replacement for the west brom game.
-
Did someone post fairly recently that Mike Dean had reportedly commented that he found a weekend and a mid-week game a struggle now due lack of recovery time, or words to that effect?
There could be a lot riding on that Chelsea vs Leicester game if Liverpool beat West Brom on Sunday. 2 potentially key matches for Mike Dean assuming he does referee both.
Has it been confirmed he plans to continue for another season - subject to his fitness test?
As an aside, I enjoyed watching highlights of a London derby from 2007 on Sky the other day with a rather younger looking Mike Dean in charge!
