Not sure why our game at MKD needs SG2, as it's a dead rubber. Maybe Tim Robinson was appointed before last Saturday's games, but it's now unnecessary.

I was wondering if Graham Salisbury at Wigan is a potential swansong with his son being appointed as fourth official. He's already done two Wigan homes this season - they lost them both 5-0!

Breakspear and Hicks might as well share a car to the Lancashire coast!

It is. A fitting finale for an outstanding NL servant.

Purkiss, Bramall and (maybe) Breakspear with the only meaningful matches in League 1 with the battle for the last 2 (or maybe 1) play off spots.

In League 2, Nield, Madley and Hicks have the battle for automatic promotion, while Toner, Stockbridge, Drysdale, Bell and Brooks have matches significant to the battle for play off spots.

What a lovely gesture for GRaham Salisbury to appoint his son as FO for his final match - well done on a fantastic career!

(Final match not confirmed as far as I know, but why else have his son as FO - it’s the only plausible reason!)

He's had a very long and very decent Football League career. Always feel uncomfortable with someone who has been well remunerated for his hobby described as a servant though.

A tad harsh?  He might have been "well remunerated" for his years on the Football League (although there is an argument that his "hourly rate" is not that high, given the commitment) but my guess is that he has ploughed is way through quite a few seasons of parks football, semi-pro football and attended numerous training meetings, association meetings and other mandatory meetings.  99.99% of referees could look the RA's motto in the eye and my guess is that he is not part of the 0.01% who could not.

No need to feel uncomfortable, as I suspect you know my comment wasn’t actually comparing being an EFL referee  of 20 years standing to the role of a servant 🙄

It is certainly a way of getting around the covid restrictions by ensuring that a family member can be present to witness the end of his twenty year career.  I don't blame him for that.

Having seen him referee many times down the years, he's not one of my favourite officials - he always gives the impression of really not wanting to be there - but I appreciate and respect his longevity.

He is 58 so a wise move to bow out I would suggest

58!?! Wow - I always thought he must be around 53/54 as that’s the sort of age you would have had enough of chasing these twenty something year old athletes!

No sign of James Adcock on the final day list. I think his 20 minute appearance at Scunthorpe on 24th April might well have been his last which, if it is, is a sad way to end a career which looked so promising, including deserved promotion to SG2.

No further details but this on BBC Football News re Wigan v Swindon. If it was Graham Salisbury's last game, he seems to have had quite a send off with 7 goals - Swindon came back to win 4-3 - and a disputed red card. Hopefully some more details later.

The game completely changed on 66 minutes, after the disputed sending-off of Wigan centre-back Curtis Tilt following a tangle with Tyler Smith came with the Latics leading 3-1 and in total control.

Edit - discussion now under 'General Discussion (Graham Salisbury)'.
