Quelle surprise with these appointments. Well done to Andy Madley for getting one.
-
Good to see Madley get a tie although on paper at least it's not the most interesting of the 4 games.
I notice a few are doing both PL & FA Cup duties over the weekend. Pawson as VAR on Friday in the PL and then in charge of the Leicester v United cup tie Sunday. Stuart Attwell is VAR on Saturday in the PL and then VAR with Pawson on Sunday.
I wonder if Kavanagh was originally slated in for the Everton - Man City 6th round tie as Massey-Ellis unusually is on Oliver's team at Goodison.
-
Happy for Madley to get an appointment in 6th round.
The 3rd appointment in FA cup for Madley, Oliver and Pawson this season. Normally one of them will be in charge of the final. Oliver done once and too soon for Madley, so I’m expecting Pawson will get the final appointment. It will be a great year for Pawson.

I thought that VAR was only available at Premier League grounds, is the equipment being imported to allow VAR at AFC Bournemouth
-
Good to see some of the pairings mixed up for a change.....

We still have it from last season in the PL
-
Decent set of appointments. Hoping this is an indicator of Pawson getting the final.

Many years ago it was usually one of the 6th round referees who got the Final. Not sure to what extent that changed and when, but as they are talking about a crowd of 20,000 being allowed now for the Cup Final, that would presumably means it's more likely to go to a referee who's not had it previously and would put Pawson in prime position.

Great to see Andy Madley with a quarter final, he deserves the appointment.
Thought they could have given Marriner the Bournemouth game for missy bmb.

Next round ;)
They owe me at least 2 Mr M visits to Bournemouth/Southampton after lockdown!

More likely to get a visit from Grandad Woolmer first!
Friend for the semi final in yellow 😂😂😂😂

Now, now you will be joining mr Friend on missy bmbs yellow naughty step lol
I guess mr marriner might be looked on more favourably if he was forced to wear yellow ?

He’s a permanent fixture on the naughty step! TTFL not Andre, although he deserves a spell there as well!!!

Madley has done well. Must have been reckoned to have had a good season.
I would expect Taylor and Dean for the Semi Finals and Pawson for the final...barring mishaps.
-
Shame for pawson and bennett to have to miss out
-
What’s the reason for Pawson and Bennett being taken off their match is it Covid related ?
-
Could they be part of Oliver’s WCQ team for the Turkey-Netherlands match that he is reportedly taking charge of? This information was released by the Dutch FA KNVB.

Difficult. The match is on 24th of March. 3 days after Leicester - Man. United.
-
No complaints with Mr Atkinson. If anyone has seen the AFCB defence though please let me know, they have been reported as missing & completely failed to turn up for the game. ::)

Would/could fit though - flights are very hit & miss still right now so perhaps the only time they can get a fight is 2/3 days before instead of just the day before as normal.

With Marriner now taking the Leicester-United game, I see Taylor is Marriner's replacement tomorrow for the Chelsea v Sheffield United tie.
Has Taylor been replaced for this evening's PL game at Brighton?
My mistake. Taylor is 4O tomorrow at Chelsea.

Taylor is in the middle for Brighton v Newcastle tonight, Friend is 4th and Attwell is VAR

Not sure on Bennett but Craig is back in isolation via track & trace. He himself is fine.
-
Could this be some sort of record ? Same match official has both Manchester clubs In quarter finals of FA cup in less than 24 hours
-
Should have added when not playing each other of course, don't want to make it too easy
