Moss in the FL for the first time in ages and Scott seems to be a regular feature in the Championship these days.
Taylor with the big game unsurprisingly and West Brom v Newcastle gets a safe pair of hands in Atkinson.
-
We only had Kavanagh last weekend, and we have him again - easily avoidable.
Given his run of good form, deserved Manchester derby for Taylor. and a safer pair of hands on West Brom's big match this week.
-
I agree the key clashes have deserved appointments - Atkinson at West Brom, Taylor with the Manc Derby and Pawson with the midlands derby. However, Hooper has had a decent season yet there is no sign of him. Friend, Moss and Dean, along with our FIFA refs (minus Coote, Bankes and Madley) seem to get weekly appointments leaving only a couple of games each match day to be shared between the rest. This has led to some referees being overworked and others underworked in my opinion. When will appointments finally be shared out equally!?!
-
What a rubbish set of appointments??!!!!
Between game week 10 and game week 22, England, Jones & Hooper had 4 games each. Just 1 game each since.
Pawson has to do a big midlands derby TWO days after another tough match between Chelsea and Liverpool!
Oliver, Moss and Kavanagh doing teams they only did 2 weeks ago! Ridiculous
Scott the latest referee to be "cast aside".
Meanwhile Atkinson becomes the first referee to officiate each team with his first Newcastle game this season. Moss's first Champiosnhip game since Nov 2019
-
Interesting to see Michael Oliver at Brighton - it had appeared lately he'd not been given games involving sides at the bottom, with recognition of him supporting Newcastle
-
Good appointments for pawson, atkinson and taylor.
Taylor deserving of manchester derby on current form, strange that he visits the etihad twice within 6 days,
Albeit fourth official today. Surely last week they could have appointed a different person tonight as fourth official if they Were intending taylor to referee the derby.
-
No middle for England hooper or Jones again!!!!
What a rubbish set of appointments
More or less the same refs every weekend
-
According to the Premier League website the following changes have been made.
Andy Madley replaces Craig Pawson as referee for Aston Villa v Wolves
Geoff Eltringham replaces Andy Madley as Fourth Official at Sheffield United v Southampton
Michael Oliver replaces Craig Pawson as VAR on Chelsea v Everton
-
Other changes reported on PL website
David Coote replaces Chris Kavanagh as referee for Chelsea v Everton
Stuart Attwell moves from FO to VAR for Brighton v Leicester
Keith Stroud replaces Attwell as FO
Andre Marriner replaces David Coote as FO at Tottenham
-
What a mess!
Pawson must be injured if he has been eliminated from all appointments this weekend.

I suspect he is not a happy chappy about the situation.

Lower down the leagues, Geoff Eltringham's move to 4th Official at Bramall Lane will presumably mean a change for Bradford -v- Bolton.
-
Why can't they be smarter with their decisions and appointments? Why not get Tim Robinson who unless i'm wrong,(if so someone please correct me), is reffing in Huddersfield on the Friday and then got a league 2 appointment midweek. Therefore, if my theory is correct he is free to fourth official on the Saturday, instead of taking someone who is orignally reffing in a lower league on the same day, therefore making it harder having to find a new official to replace Eltringham in league 2

So has everything & everyone gone back to their original appointment?
Craig must have had a negative covid test back which is good news. I don't know the reason for Kavanagh being taken off, possibly the same reason, which would also mean he has had a negative test, which again is good news.

Sadly, that is right across the board and doesn't just relate to football or sporting matters!

so everything back to how it was?

Appointments have been changed again. Pawson and Kavanagh are back.
What a mess...
Not sure if the PL website is right in putting them back again, the info I have is that although Craig Pawson has himself tested negative for covid, (that is 100% fact & great news) he is still required to self isolate, like everyone else has to, having come into contact with someone who has tested positive. I'm pretty sure he can't do the game as he'll still be in self isolation.

I thought because he has tested negative he can do it. I might be wrong who knows we're find out tomorrow

Glad they're both back. Craig in particular is having an excellent season and it would have been a terrible shame if he had to take a break in the middle of a very good run of games.

I thought the same. I also know that as of today he is still having to self isolate so who knows! I'm not doing any more editing until it is confirmed tomorrow by whoever is actually on the pitch!

If they are re-instated i guess it could be that the person(s) they were in contact with may have subsequently
Had more tests which were negative ie the original test being a false negative.

All the changes made are accurate on MOAS so I expect them to remain the same.

Definitely Andy Madley at Villa Park this evening. Hopefully Pawson and Kavanagh will be back soon.

So Missy bmb's info was more accurate than the PL website then!

It looked like geoff eltringham as 4th at bramall lane and keith stroud 4th at brighton.
I cant imagine anyone would doubt you missy bmb.
Think someone at the premier league ( web admin) when updating their site yday republished the original appointments and not the page with the changes.

Either that or missy bmb is actually Mike Riley in disguise all along
-
So if Pawson/Kavanagh have to both self isolate and Mason has been temporary exiled that leaves PGMOL with 15 referees for next weekend?
There is one game Friday night, followed by four Saturday and four Sunday
There are also CL and EL games midweek that Taylor or Oliver could potentially be appointed to

Proof that I am not is that Andre is not appointed to every other home game of Southampton and every other home game of AFCB! ;D

I doubt any of our refs will be on CL/EL games purely down to current travel restrictions & potentially having to self isolate on return to the UK. Logistical nightmare for UEFA right now & imo appointments will be more determined by who can travel where without self isolating coming into play than perhaps on merit. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time or the last but they will be looking to protect their referees but also what is easiest. Flights are a nightmare - I'd normally have about 15 flights/day to choose from to go to Hungary & a choice of flying to Budapest or Debrecen, currently there is 1 flight/day and only to Budapest & then there is getting the clearance to travel. That is the reality of the travel situation. A couple of observers have had to be taken off of games because of the lack of flights, hence why home appointed assessors are occurring more or from a next door neighbour country where they can drive/catch a train easier than flying. I'd not want to be the one trying to make heads or tails of who can travel, where they can travel to, will they have to self isolate on arrival or when they return home, are their flights available to get them there and back home again and that's before you consider if they can referee the teams involved due to any effect it can have on a team from their own country, let alone the merit table and if they deserve an appointment or not.

Sheff U and Southampton charged by the FA for failing to control their players following the mass brawl at the end of the match.
