Title: Hackett pouring his thoughts out once again....

Some of it I agree with for once, and at least he acknowledged that Cann was spot on at Liverpool.

Not sure on the slight dig at Webb regarding assistants bailing him out regularly. That seems a tad harsh.

He also stated that Oliver was at the Emirates this weekend instead of Moss, surely given his tirade of negative thoughts towards Moss he would have noticed!

There was some real dross this weekend around the PL.

I seem to recall some mention in Howard Webb’s book about an event where one of his ARs was telling him, correctly it turned out, a Red Card needed, perhaps Mr Hackett referring to that?

I couldn't believe how many inaccuracies there were in those Hackett comments.

Apart from having Oliver at the Emirates, the Red Card Atkinson missed was, according to Hackett, for a challenge by Alfie Mawson.  I was pretty convinced it was Fosu-Mensah.

Then his description of the foul on Gundogan:
"a studs-up rake down the back of his ankle that was punished with only a booking"
Yes, it was studs up as both players went for the ball and there was only a booking.  It wasn't a 'rake down' and it wasn't the back of the ankle, was it?  It was certainly high but was the front of the leg surely.

There was a rake down the back of the ankle a few weeks ago in the first few minutes of a game for which Anthony Taylor was criticised (including by Hackett) for only producing a YC. Perhaps his memory is playing tricks or perhaps he wasn't watching the games too closely.  Very sloppy.

You have to wonder whether he has actually watched the incidents.  You can't criticise referees for getting things wrong when you watch them on a computer and can't even describe them correctly.  Wrong referee at the Emirates and the wrong player making the foul.  And to describe the challenge on Gundogan as a rake down the back of his ankle is beyond baffling.

Just noticed this complete twaddle from Hackett... clearly he thinks pulling an opponents hair is just worthy of a talking too... and not a red card...
