Might have been a last min replacement on Taylors team in europe ?

Shocking professionalism not to know one of your employees is not in the country when doing the appointments and imo referees should not do the reverse fixture in the same season which happens frequently and is lazy appointing.
Unprofessionalism I would say. It does make one wonder quite how much thought goes into appointments.

If you go to the "I spy old refs" thread, this was common practise in the post-war years. It even happened when sides played each other on Christmas Day with the reverse fixture 24 hours later.

Rob Jones is in Spain with Taylor in the conference league and then at turf moor Friday night. Surely overnight stay in Spain and a flight back on Friday to then straight to Burnley

Well ward had a good game ,martin usually books 6 of our players and Langford is usually ok so I suppose we can't complain.

He's clearly having a meteoric rise and wish him all the best for the game - however a little disappointed this hasn't had SG2 or even royalty designation. Massive permutations for both sides!

Mr Langford renews acquaintances with Sheff Utd just two weeks after taking charge of their date on ITV against Coventry. He's had a solid season in my opinion and I'm not against him as a referee, I do think there are less steady SG2's than him. Both games with us (Argyle) he's done well in by my book this year. Could be a huge game at both ends of the table depending on how midweek goes
