Has Madley recovered from his injury for tomorrow’s match?
With the amendments a few minutes after your post, obviously not.
Geoff Eltringham now has a trip to East Anglia instead of a weekend on board duties in Yorkshire.
In a matter of four weeks since the extremely controversial incident involving Tyrone Mings and Reading's Nelson Oliveira on February 2nd which engendered considerable anger amongst Reading's players, management and fans towards Geoff Eltringham, the powers that be have appointed him as fourth official at Reading's game on February 16th and now yesterday as the man in the middle.
Whilst I appreciate yesterday's appointment was a late change and perhaps there were limited options I can't help feeling it would have been more understanding of the situation if Eltringham and Reading could have been kept apart for a while rather than create a situation where Oliveira felt the need to remove his mask and showing Eltringham his facial injuries before the game even kicked off.
As it turned out Eltringham should in my opinion have shown Oliveira a second yellow card yesterday for his provocative goal celebration in front of the opposing fans ironically in response to his being taunted by them about Mings alleged actions. Could Eltringham have been influenced into leniency by the history between the players I wonder. I hope not but I just think for all parties sake when there is such bad feeling a cooling off period should be considered in such situations.

David Webb was superb at Millwall today was one of the best ref performances I've seen all season

Interesting to see Bankes on the Sheffield derby so soon after doing Norwich V Ipswich. Bit of a surprise I think - is he under consideration for promotion?
On the basis of his performance in the East Anglian derby, I would hope not.
Jones and Madley are very close.... I think only England is a reasonable candidate.
The others, are simply either not good enough (90%) or not ready (10%).

Half time and it was Anthony Backhouse who replaced him.
Backhouse also replaced Geoff Eltringham at Stoke earlier this season.
-
Darren England on a key game - Ipswich v Reading - at the foot of the Championship. I wonder whether Andrew Madley will be available on Saturday, having come off part way through the game at Boro last weekend.
At what point of the game did Madley come off and was it Backhouse who replaced him?

The Championship refereeing standards are being boosted by Mason and East this weekend then.
More dross to add to the existing rubbish....that said Davies is slumming it down in league 2 this weekend.
Stroud with a tasty west London derby.
