Percy Edwin Walton (Eltham, Kent)

2nd November 1879 - 6th April 1968
(DoB taken from his Army record but the 1939 Register gives 20th October)

Son of William Edwin (1851-1904) and Rebecca Elizabeth Ryan (1853-1904)

Born in Forest Gate, London E7 and the family were still there in 1881
but by 1891 they had re-located to Scarborough, Yorkshire

1908-09 and 1909-10 refereeing in the Portsmouth area

In 1911 at Woolwich as a Quarter-Master Sergeant, "Gentleman Cadet"

11.10.1913 refereed Amateur cup tie at Leytonstone

July 1914 at Shoeburyness, Essex still as a Quarter-Master Segeant

July 1921 at Eltham, Kent as an Army Captain

30.09.1922 Spartan League v Army at Chesham
02.04.1923 Army Cup Final at Aldershot, att 17,000 inc. King & Queen
28.10.1923 France v Norway 0-2 in Paris at Parc des Princes
05.01.1924 Tufnell Park v R.M.L.I., Amateur Cup R1
09.02.1924 Army v Corinthians
16.04.1924 Navy Cup Final at Fratton Park, Portsmouth

Freemason

1939 Register, in Twickenham - Assistant Grand Secretary of Masonic Lodge and retired Army officer
with wife Hester (born 1879) married 1901 (presumably abroad) and daughter Winifred (born 1906)

Captain in the Royal Artillery

Died 6th April 1968
death registered in Surrey Mid-East registration district
