There are two very useful websites giving details of referees for Leeds games v Liverpool and v Chelsea - lfchistory.net and stamford-bridge.com/referee .
They are not 100%, for example F V Stringer does not appear in the Nov 1955 game which you mention, but they are still v useful particularly for games from the 1960s and 1970s onwards. Linesmen / ARs are not included.

I checked a programme too it was F.V. Stringer
