Mark Scholes

Not that "old" but in the section where those that know these things reside

On the line for the Charity Shield yesterday

Looks like his first "big" match

Championship Play-offs 2013, 2015 & 2018 plus League Cup Semi 2020 being his other notables

He is listed as Berks & Bucks but I think he is from the latter half

There is a Mark S in Buckingham (married to Carolyn) and a Mark A in Aylesbury (married to Maureen)

Anyone one know more, age, middle name, home town etc?

Agreed. There are several non-league match reports in local newspapers that expressly mention Buckingham, such as :-

Id expect Mark to be older than that. I would suggest a late 60s/early 70s birth date

The only two other options are

Mark Steven (with a v) Q2 1971 Salford (so aged 49)

Mark Stephen (with a ph) Q1 1976 Bolton (so aged 44)

This suggests that he was already on the FL line in late 2003 :-

If that is correct, it seems to rule out the 1984 birth.

Mark Scholes has been a Football League assistant since 2002 and while assistants and referees have been getting younger I agree that a date of birth after 1980 is unlikely. Scholes seems to be a surname commonest in the North West so he may have been born there and moved South although it's possible he was born elsewhere including in Bucks.
