Two local ex referees passed away recently
For anyone who remembers them - Horace Holmes and Dave Phillips (D.T. Phillips)
Dave Phillips lived across from me for years before he moved to Cardiff, lovely man
Dave worked at our company for many years and was a sound fella
Dave’s half-time team talks when he was manager of Barnsley R.A. football team will live with me forever. Great referee, fantastic guy.
